GAME RECAP:

For the second day in a row the quartet of Team California arms to toe the rubber lead the way to a win as they come away with a 4-2 win over Team Arizona. The day started off with '26 RHP Jake Ourique as the Golden State squads starter and he left an impression of the coaches in the stands and the players on the field with his out. Featuring a 3 pitch mix that his highlighted by his FB/CHG combo while adding a CB as his third pitch Ourique would allow 1 run, but punchout 5 hitters from the Grand Canyon state with his deceptive potentially plus CHG picking up multiple swing/miss and looking strikes. Ourique sat 85-87 MPH with his FB while touching 88 that sets up the bugs bunny like CHG he throws at 74-77 MPH and uses his softer 67-70 MPH CB to keep hitters off balance. For his work Ourique brought home the Dicks Sporting Good Player of the Game making two of those for Team California following up on the work of '26 LHP Parker Allman yesterday.

After Ourique departed next up was '26 RHP Corwin Allard who put together a pair of strong innings during his Future Games appearance. The righthander worked off a 86-88 MPH FB as his primary pitch while mixing in his 77-78 MPH CHG which he can throw for strikes and finally an interesting 73-75 MPH SLD. Allard went 2 innings without allowing a base runner to reach base while punching out 3 of his own by pounding the bottom of the strike zone.

Next up came the work of '26 RHP Jonny Haskett who put together his own strong 2 inning look. A RHP out of the San Diego area Haskett features a power CB that will spin above 2700 RPMs in the 72-75 MPH range which he worked in tandem with his 86-88 MPH FB and 77-78 MPH CHG. He allowed only 1 runner to reach base in his two innings of work and picked up one strikeout of his own before exiting the game with a scoreless 2 innings of work.

Finally, 2-way player '26 INF/RHP Taden Krogsgaard entered to close out the game by pitching one inning of relief with a FB in the 87-88 MPH range while throwing a SLD at 77-78 with 2600+ RPMs of spin and feel for a 80 MPH CHG and striking out 2 hitters of his own.

On the offensive side of the day the Golden State squad strung together strong at bats throughout the game, but their 4 run third inning proved the difference in the game. With '26 INF/RHP Kai Van Scoyoc getting things started on a double to RCF he would be followed by '26 C Carson Sheffer who picked up an INF single of his own (to go with a loud barrel later in the game at nearly 96 MPH EV) then '26 OF Zeke Lara shot a single to LF to load the bases at which point the trio of '26 INF/RHP Caleb Trugman, '26 C/OF Warren Gravely and finally '27 OF Ira Rootman would drive in the 4 runs to put Team California ahead 4-1. In addition '26 C Michael Nonis and '26 OF Erick Barron collected hits.

The win puts Team California at 2-0 so far in the Future Games and they will close out their week in Georgia by facing off with Team Select on Saturday.
