The NCAA early signing period started November 11th, 2015 and will run through the 18th. We expect to see several players from all corners of the state make their commitments official. Here is a look at Kasey Ford, 2016 RHP from Bentonville HS. Here is my report from the State Championship game last spring, where Ford was the winning pitcher.
Kasey Ford, RHP, Bentonville HS
Ford is a 6-foot-5 245-pound RHP with a large frame and an average body. He pitched from a low ¾ arm slot with a short but quick arm action. During the 7A State Championship Game he attack the strike zone with a fastball of 88-91 mph with slight arm-side run. He complimented his fastball with a slider thrown at 75-78 mph with gradual 10/4 break. He repeated mechanics consistently allowing him to throw strikes throughout the game. Ford showed the ability to make big pitches in big spots. Overall is a big physical athlete with a strong arm and is highly competitive.
Ford, is the No. 2 player in the 2016 class from the state of Arkansas and the No. 1 RHP in his class. Ford attended one PBR event, attending the All-State Games on October 31st and November 1st. He did a good job commanding the strike zone on both sides of the plate with both his fastball and slider. This was impressive as he is in the middle of football season. Leading the Bentonville Tigers as their quarterback as they attempt to make another run to the state championship game.
