Possessing a smaller and athletic 5-foot-7, 150-pound frame with room for growth, DeBriyn’s bat contributed for 5-Star in their game against Impact Academy. The right handed batter went 3-for-3 at the plate with two ground balls near shortstop and a line drive to left field. DeBriyn is quick out of the box as he was able to beat out one of his ground balls to shortstop. Mechanically, DeBriyn bats in a crouched stance and displays a double tap stride with a smooth swing and full extension. On the other side of the ball, DeBriyn came in to relief for 5 Star and absolutely shoved. The righty threw five innings not allowing any runs and one hit while striking out six. Mechanically, DeBriyn fully extends his leg on his leg kick and throws out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a smooth delivery. He works quick on the mound, not allowing the batter much time to gather his thoughts. DeBriyn throws a 74-78 mph fastball that touched 79 mph in which he throws a mix of arm and glove side. Although mostly fastballs, he mixed in a sharp curveball at 63-65 mph sporadically.
