Gruber showed speed and feel to hit in Sunday’s event, recording a 6.86 seconds 60-yard dash time (2nd best at the event) to go with his impressive round of batting practice. The left-handed hitter works from a wide base to a good hitting position, with controlled and quiet movements. It’s a compact swing with some loft and quick hands that allow him to drive the ball to all fields; and he recorded a max exit velocity of 93.4 mph. Defensively, the junior showed quality direction and intention through the ball, working up to 83 mph from the outfield. Gruber has a unique combination of strength and quickness that should propel him to an excellent 2024.
