OF Luke Schaning (Nathan Hale, 2026) turned in a notable performance with the glove and the bat on Saturday. Right-handed hitting Schaning showcased his feel for the barrel with a balanced swing as he was driving baseballs through the big part of the field consistently during his round. Metrically his round was impressive too, as his hardest hit ball came off at 93.3 mph, while averaging 88.9 mph average and his furthest batted ball traveled 355 feet. From the outfield, Schaning reached an 87 mph high and proved to have more than enough arm to man centerfield and right field. Schaning’s talents and skills were on display and proves why he is one of the top talents in the class of 2026.
OF Luke Schaning (Nathan Hale, 2026) is a physically advanced 6-foot-1, 190-pounds and he is making a slight jump up this board. Schaning’s inherent strength allows him to create some loud contact from his quick right-handed swing and he already has high-90s juice in there, too. His BLAST metrics are also off the charts, as he has averaged a swing speed of 81.1 mph and a hand speed of 23.4 mph; both of which are advanced numbers and not just for his age. Despite his physical stature, Schaning is amongst the class’s best athletes; he is a 7.09 runner and it plays in the outfield, pairing it with a strong arm that has been up to 87 mph from the position.
Currently ranked No. 10 in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. Schanning has a physical 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with present strength throughout and round shoulders. The right-handed hitter was all over the barrel on Monday, showcasing easy power with a short and quick stroke; displaying power potential to the whole field. Athletic defender in the outfield with accurate routes and a strong arm.

OF Luke Schaning (Nathan Hale, 2026) is one of the class's most physical prospects, standing at an advanced 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. During our time in Franklin, Schaning's athleticism was on full display during the outfield portion of the event as he featured athletic actions to move from left-to-right and paired it with a strong arm that topped at 87 mph on his hardest bullet from the outfield. Schaning really impressed during his round BP where he recorded some of the days loudest contact, despite being one of the younger prospects in attendance. In the right-handed box, Schaning uses his advanced strength to deliver a quick, and strong barrel to the ball to consistently backspin liners to both gaps. His hardest hit ball of the day came off at 96.5 mph and he averaged 86.6 mph, too. His hit-tool plays in game too as he arguably had the top offensive weekend at the PBR at The Rock Summer Championships last year, and also tallied multiple hard-hit balls down in Georgia where he represented Team Wisconsin at the PBR Junior Future Games.

Schaning is a quick twitch 6-foot-1, 180-pound, physical athlete with strength throughout his frame. Schaning continually impresses our staff with his present toolset both at the plate and on defense. Schaning displays strength in his hands with the ability to drive balls for extra base hits. He covers ground in the outfield with solid routes and jumps and quick turnover to track balls down in the gaps. Schaning was a valuable member of the Junior Future Games squad for the state last July and will be one we keep our eyes on going forward.
Schaning is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete who showed well at the showcase on Wednesday. Features a short, compact swing with a high leg kick, giving him the ability to drive the baseball. We saw this throughout the 2022 summer circuit, and at the Milwaukee Rising Stars ID during the spring, as Schaning was able to raise his status as one of the better hitters in the 2026 class in the state. At Lakepoint, he averaged 208 feet of distance traveled on batted balls. Premier defender in the outfield as well, reached 80 mph on Wednesday.
OF Luke Schaning (Nathan Hale, 2026) was a physically advanced outfielder (Nathan Hale, 2026) in attendance. Schaning put together one of the more impressive performances all around at the event. He clocked a 7.41 60 yard dash which was the second highest mark of the day. From the outfield he threw 82mph from a high slot with strength and carry. He ranges well during his defensive round and showed athleticism, quickness, and some feel for adjusting to tough hops. What probably stood out most for Schaning was his advanced physical presence in the box. Working out of a crouched setup, and swinging with violence, he generated quality pop when he was synced up. Schaning provided high intent swings that can be difficult to find at these ages.

Athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame that projects; well-proportioned levers that are fully capable of adding at least 20 pounds of strength as he continues to physically develop. Hit towards the middle of the Halos’ lineup all weekend and primarily patrolled the outfield during the PBR at The Rock Championships. Quality athlete that moves well for his size/age, potential for above-average speed down the road. Balanced setup with some crouch in the stance, quick bat waggle, hands slot into a strong hitting position at footstrike. Twitchy bat speed, level path, gap-to-gap type hitter with an intriguing power ceiling given the present juice and future body projection. Tooled up athlete that’s definitely a follow in Wisconsin’s 2026 class.
