Hands are loose, fast bat, short path to the baseball, line drive approach, on time and on barrel. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed soft hands, plays through the baseball with active footwork, natural middle infielder. Arm action is short, over the top slot, 81 mph across the diamond. 4.58 runner down the line.

2/28/16 - Northern Illinois commit. Currently ranked No. 11 in the Wisconsin Class of 2017. 5-foot-8, 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a strong frame. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws with carry, throwing 86 mph across the infield. Showed plus athletic action and body control on the infield. Quick, fluid footwork with soft hands a quick, clean exchange. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a smooth load and short stride. Good balance at the plate. Line drive spray hitter with a short path and a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 90 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.96.

10/24/15 - Small, super athletic middle infielder, 5-foot-7, 145-pounds. Plus potential defender at his age, feet work athletically with soft hands, advanced actions and body control. Possibly the best infield defender in Wisconsin’s 2017 class. Arm plays short and over the top with a quick release, accurate arm with carry, 82 mph across the diamond. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, smooth loading action, short stride, lower half works, athletic setup with good balance throughout. Fast bat on short path, line drive gap to gap type hitter, can cut down some head movement, loose athletic hitter. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. One of the top overall prospects in Wisconsin’s 2017 class.

7/31/15 - 5-foot-8, 150-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with an athletic frame and present strength. Solid runner in the 60 running a 6.90. At the plate hits from a wide stance with a deep load to backside, and leg lift trigger. Solid contact when timing is right. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a low center of gravity with fluid footwork and soft hands. Quick transfer and release. Showed solid lateral agility in workouts and at games. Can play both middle infield positions. Threw 82 mph across the infield during workouts. Went 2-7 with a walk and a run scored in games.

5/9/15 - 5-foot-7, 150-pound middle infielder, strong, athletic build. Defensively has a short, high ¾ arm action with some carry, 83 mph across the diamond. Advanced defensive actions. Moves fluidly side to side, demonstrated soft hands. Showed body control and quick feet around the bag, ran a 6.99 sixty-yard dash. Right-handed hitter, balanced, athletic stance, short stride, smooth load, stays balance through contact. Strong, consistent set-up, looked ready to hit. Fast, fluid hands, with a short path to the baseball, 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Line drive type hitter who showed nice extension; potential gap to gap hitter down the road. Has the bat control to hit and uses all parts of the field. Strong hitter for his size. One of the top 2017 middle in-fielding prospects in Wisconsin, projects to stay in the middle of the infield and be a top of the lineup hitter.

2/8/15 - 5-foot-6, 140-pound middle infielder, strong compact build, good athlete. 6.98 runner in the 60, laser timed, smooth athletic runner. Offensively hits from the right side, open stance, short stride, lower half works, excellent balance, hitters setup. Advanced hit tool, repeats swing well, produced hard contact, flashed occasional gap to gap pop, barrel aware. Bat speed is quick, loose athletic hands, advanced for age, pull side approach, showed the ability to pull the ball with authority, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively played with a short loose, arm action, arm plays well on the infield, over the top slot, showed carry, accurate arm at 82 mph across the infield. Natural defender, hands are soft, athletic feet, plays through the baseball well, fields out in front. Rodriguez looks to be one of the top middle infielders in the 2017 class.
