We highlighted Beach earlier in their scrimmage versus Colonial Heights, but wanted to touch on him once again as he continues to impress. This time we had an opportunity to see him versus some high level arms and he was solid. Took at bats deep in the count, used the entire field, made adjustments throughout, and showed a solid approach at all times. Has the size and power to be a big threat at this level and the next. Moves well around the bag and appears to have a solid understanding of what he needs to do at the plate in every situation.

Beach has physically matured and grown into his projectable athletic frame. Stance was loose, athletic, and started slightly open. He displayed some patience and a good approach at the plate. Got walked in his first two at bats, but displayed patience and approach at the plate. Third at bat he hit a ball to deep left field, that ended up falling, showing that his approach has matured and he is using all parts of the field now. Defensively moved well around the bag and looked comfortable playing first the majority of the game.

Beach has a mature frame and strength at contact as well as a ton of batspeed. Beach has long had easy home run power to his pull side but in the past has gotten a bit pull happy. He showed the ability to use the whole field this weekend while keeping his power, including a double that one-hopped the left-center fence.
4.10.17: DH’d in the game, but had athletic footwork around the bag in pre-game, threw from low three-quarters arm slot with short arm action. Hits from the left side, physically imposing hitter, swing path is a bit longer but bat speed is good. Pull approach with clear power, works uphill. Only had two at-bats, faced Dragum both times, first at-bat went deep, fighting off good pitches before striking out. Second at-bat took two curveballs for strikes and then chased a change-up running away from him. Hanover deployed a full shift against him.
5.26.16: Beach has a great frame, standing an athletic 6-3, 215. He hits from the left side from an upright athletic stance. Leg kick stride, smooth load back, good rhythm to his swing. Explosive hips and hands as well as good balance and extension. Pull approach with a lot of power potential. Showed a mature approach and a lot of confidence during his at-bats.
