Compact 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. Chae is arguably the best 2023 uncommitted middle infielder in the state. He is an advanced, polished defender that has the ability to stay up the middle. Hands and feet work, above average runner, and arm is slightly above average with the ability to throw on the run. At the plate he starts slightly open, small leg kick, and a square finish. Hands drop slightly on load, short to contact, and a slightly uphill path. It is a contact bat with a low swing and miss rate. Had a double down the line early on to jumpstart the Cape Henry offense. Chae came on in relief for the Dolphins and worked two and two-thirds innings. Short arm action from a three-quarter slot. The compact right hander offers some pitchability with his ability to mix and match his four pitch arsenal. The fastball sat 81-83 mph and touched 84 mph. Showed two breaking balls, a 12/6 curveball at 71-74 mph and a slider that showed more lateral break with a shorter shape at 73-75. Also displayed above average feel for a 75-77 mph changeup with some late arm side run.
