A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball

Brooks is 6-1 with an athletic 205 pound frame that has strength present and projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, very short free quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 84-86, with heavy hard armside run that has a bit of depth as well. Curveball was 72-73 with good armspeed and hard sharp 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 79-80 with good armspeed and heavy fade to it.

Brooks is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a primarily pull approach, swing generates loft, exit velocity was 77. In the outfield, gets behind the ball and fields through it with above average hands, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 81. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square with a slight fall-off finish. Fastball was 77-82, with downward plane and late run to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 65-68 with sharp 11/5 break. Change-up was 69-70 with good armspeed and hard late fade. Throws all three for strikes.

Positional Profile: RHP/OF Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Hit: RHH. Hits from square, taller set up. Hands are shorter to the ball with some extension through contact. Creates form bat speed with hands. Strong barrell from middle to pull side. Loses some connection at times on the outer half. Like to see stay stronger with barrel. Nice rhythm in swing and like the potential there. Power: 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Line drive tendencies to the middle/pull side. Arm: RH. OF 85 mph. Longer athletic arm action with arm speed. High three quarter slot and throws show carry on them. Defense: Active feet working through the baseball. Keeps balance and gains ground working to the infield. Nice momentum while staying low and quick to get rid of the baseball. Strength in present in arm. Run: 4.82 runner Home-to-first time

6-foot, 185-pound frame with projection left to it. Slightly narrow stance from the right side. Starts square and uses a toe tap to stride, landing on line. Hands load in rhythm, bat wraps, and swing path has some uphill tilt to it. Lower half finishes and he maintains some balance throughout. Exit velocity was 84 mph. In the outfield Brooks is under control on approach, solid glove presentation and posture on approach, and eyes follow to catch. Uses a clean hand break to a short arm path and throws from a three-quarter arm slot at 82 mph from the outfield. Ran a 7.57 60. Worked primarily out of the stretch, starting with a staggered closed stance, and waist high leg lift to balance. Shoulders elevated and closed moving forward, lands on line, and works over a firm front side. Arm action was short and had some deception coming from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball had some late arm side run at 77-78 and worked to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball had 11/5 shape from a lower arm slot. Was able to throw it for strikes at 65-66 mph. Changeup was solid arm speed and intent with some late hard fade and the makings of a nice secondary pitch at 72-74 mph.
