5-foot-10, 165-pound proportional athletic build. Fluid confident in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 82 mph. (63.7 mph bat speed average). (20.1 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced quiet stance with a quick active load, then uses a quick small leg kick. Bat speed is quick efficient, has a short simple swing plane and balanced finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Smooth athletic while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 80 mph; has a clean natural exchange, sure consistent hands, and athletic in control feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action and an-over-the-top slot. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.69.

Tobin has an athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame. Got a chance to see him last Thursday and Tuesday night. At the plate he sets up from a narrow stance, back foot and knee preset in, and hands tight. Simple pickup to stride and lands on line. Hands make minimal load back and are very short to contact staying inside the ball well. Uses the backside of the field well and I think part of that is that the swing path to initial contact is so short. In the video below Tobin drove a 1-1 pitch to right center field with nobody out. This allowed Muir to advance to third and would score one batter later, putting Godwin up 2-0. This is a contact driven swing and shows line drive tendency. Solid feel for the barrel and has good plate discipline. As he continues to mature and add strength it will be interesting to see if the swing lengthens at all and he adds some doubles power to the pull-side gap.

Showed versatility taking balls in the outfield, where his velocity was 82. Ran a 7.07 60 yard dash. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, long free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are downhill and closed, lands closed with a fall off finish.
