Carey is 6-5 with a tall, strong athletic frame. He hits from the left side from an open upright athletic stance. Short leg kick stride on line, short load back with a slight wrap, some rhythm to his swing. Explosive hips rotate fully, good balance to lower half. Very strong swing, short to ball working uphill through contact, pull fly ball approach with plenty of power to pull side, exit velocity was 97. In the outfield, gets body behind the ball and fields with average hands. Works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with some carry on his throws, outfield velocity was 87. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a long break straight back and a free arm action. Normal to some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 80-82 with some downward plane and late run to it. Slider was 70-71 with good armspeed and hard 1/7 to downer action to it.

Showed some accuracy as well.
