6-foot, 160-pound lanky proportional frame. Solid projectable during batting practice, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 82 mph. (62.0 mph bat speed average). (21.0 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a quick active load, then uses a short controlled stride. Bat speed was efficient present, had a simple rotational swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive up the middle approach. Smooth projectable in the infield, displayed a velocity of 72 mph; shows soft sure hands, smooth consistent feet, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used an-over-the-top slot with a compact arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.04. Confident on the mound, showed quick developing arm speed with a longer arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Tilt-and-topple up-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Balance point is tall with in line shoulders during delivery. Lands square with a clean balanced finish. Sat with his fastball at 77-80 mph; had both sides of the plate control and slight sinking action. (Max spin 1920; Avg 1752). His 12/6 curveball (69-70) showed down in the zone control and late action. His changeup (69-71) showed fading sinking action and down in the zone control.

Ranson is 6-0 with a very lanky athletic 160 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the left side from an open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, loads in place. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball, level line drive swing path, showed a good approach working gap to gap, potential to develop some gap power as he fills out, exit velocity was 77. In the infield, gets body behind the ball and fields with a wider base and average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from high three-quarters arm slot, long arm action, position velocity was 71. Ran a 7.49 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a very high three-quarters arm slot, long free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands on line with an athletic finish. Fastball was 72-73, with downward angle and some late armside run to it. Slider was 61-62 with good armspeed and big gradual 1/7 break to it. Change-up was 62-67 with good armspeed and late fade to it.

Lanky projectable frame. Hits from a taller set up. Path is level to the ball with some bat speed. Barrel stays in the zone. Shows freeness in hands and some wrist strength. Liked his barrel control with a tendency to stay middle. Confident first step and covers ground. More to add to his athletic frame.

Positional Profile: LHP /1B Body: 5-foot-9, 140-pounds. Projectable frame with room for more. Hit: LHH. Slightly open taller set up. Short to ball with uphill finish. Nice rhythm at plate. Power: 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Potential to turn into a power guy with uphill finish and gets into the lower half. As he gets stronger, more will come. Arm: LH. INF - 65 mph. Over the top slot, short arm action. Defense: Sound footwork. Gets to ball well. Sound hands and clean exchange on double play feeds. Run: 4.56 Home-to-first time
