Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Rowlands has a long wiry frame with projection left to it. Normal effort to the delivery, arm circle is full, and works from an over the top slot with downhill plane to the fastball. The fastball stayed between 80-82 mph throughout his two innings of work and showed a bigger 12/6 curveball that he was comfortable throwing early and late in counts. I think there is a chance Rowlands can add some velo with added strength to a frame that can definitely handle it. Rowlands is a King University commit.

Rowlands is 6-2 with a lanky frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands open with a fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 81-83, with some downward plane and late hard armside run. Curveball had good armspeed and was 69-72 with sharp downer 11/5 break to it.

A lean 5-foot-10, 130 pounds. Ran a 7.47 60 yard dash. Offensively- stands in the box with a slighty open stance. Fast twitch actions, quick bat path through the hitting zone. Uses a slight leg lift for balance before entering the hitting zone. Exit velocity was 72 MPH. Defensively- the OF is aggressive to the baseball. Stays under control and gets himself in a good position. A quick exchange and release on throws to the plate. Follows the throw. Top throwing velocity was 77 MPH. Pitching- Displayed an easy free arm. Works downhill from a balance backside. ¾ arm slot. Good command of the FB around the zone. FB peaked at 80 MPH. CB is sharp and ranged from 64-65 MPH. Mixed a Splitter which ranged from 70-72 MPH. The 2021 dual player is a must follow.
Pitching - clean mechanics with loose arm action, two-seam has run which kept batters off-balance, can throw breaking ball on either side of the plate for strikes. Defensively - impressive play in right field, gets good jump on the ball, knows how to set up for catch and throw, aggressive path with a strong and accurate arm.
