VA/DC State Games: Team 1 and 2 Rapid Reaction

On Sunday, October 25, over 190 players from all corners of the Commonwealth and DC descended on Lynchburg to take part in our inaugural VA/DC State Games. Games and workouts were held at two sites, City Stadium and Liberty University, today we highlight a few players who stood out from Teams 1 and 2, who played the first game at City Stadium:
Team 1
Brock Duff RHP Liberty Christian 2021 (UVA Wise)
Duff has committed in the last week, at the State Games, he was 80-84 and showed a sharp curveball that he threw for strikes and commanded well.
Griffin Graham OF/RHP Clover Hill 2021
Graham has a lanky frame with plenty of projection left. Showed arm strength in the outfield, short to the ball with extension through it. Chance to grow into more power as he adds strength.

Gavin Gregory RHP Nansemond River 2021
Gregory has an athletic frame with some strength present and projection left to it. Showed some velo and feel for his offspeed.

Nicholas Hamm OF Briar Woods 2022
Hamm is lanky with a ton of projection. He's toolsy with speed and some power potential to tap into as he continues to develop.

Declan McCann RHP/OF Dominion 2021
McCann has a lot of projection left to his frame and showed some arm strength and power potential

Drew Petitt OF Briar Woods 2021
Petitt has an athletic frame with some strength present and projection left to it. Speedy outfielder can play all three positions and has a feel for the barrel. Ball carries in the gaps off his bat.

Domenic Rowlands RHP/OF Jefferson Forest 2021
Rowlands has a lanky frame with a lot of projection left to it. He was 81-83 on a cold day but has been up to 85 at other events and has feel for his breaking ball.
Stone Talley 2B Powhatan 2021
Talley has a strong athletic frame with some power in the gaps. Strong at contact and drives the ball.

Ethan Applegate OF Independence 2022
Applegate is a tall lanky player with some strength present and plenty of projection left to his frame. Long levers generates power and he also runs decently.

Reese Crochet LHP TC Williams 2022 (George Washington)
Crochet has committed in the week since the State Games. He has long levers and a lot of projection in his frame. Fastball was 78-81 last week and he creates a really tough angle on hitters.
Colby Cunningham OF Carlisle 2022
Strong kid with projection left to his frame. Runs decently and has some present arm strength. Strong at contact with a chance to grow into some more power.

Luke Lyman RHP Clarke County 2022
Lyman was one of the standouts of this game, fastball sat 84-86 and touched 88, easy velocity and easy arm action. Big athletic frame with projection left to it, has a chance to continue to add velocity. He is athletic and has feel for three pitches.

Sully Tibbs 3B Jefferson Forest 2022
Tibbs has a ton of projection left to his frame. Long levers and an easy swing that has a lot of power left to grow into. Very smooth actions at third base where he can be a good defender.

Quincy Via OF Lake Braddock 2022
Via had a loud statistical day. He has a ton of projection left on his big frame and has a lot of quick-twitch to him.
