The at bat to homerun ratio for my looks at the 2023 corner infielder is fairly impressive. I have seen him in approximately ten at bats this spring, between the PBR VA Spring League and the high school season, and I have seen three homeruns during that time. Johnson has a solid frame that continues to clean up and add strength that plays in game. Earlier this spring he hit a no doubter out of left field, then an oppo bomb at Hermitage, and tonight took a breaking ball out of left center in the top of the first. At the plate the weight is set back, simple stride landing square, and hands load and separate in rhythm. The barrel has some uphill tilt to it through contact and gains extension through the baseball. Above average hand and bat speed through the zone and the power plays in game. Physical right handed bat to keep an eye on as he continues to mature.
