A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball

Curveball

Sanford is listed at 6-foot and has a lanky frame with room to fill out. He is a high end runner that covers ground easily in the outfield with the arm strength to play all three. It is a longer exchange to release, but has plenty of arm strength to make throws from any area of the outfield. That was about the extent of the look on Sanford, as we were sent packing due to weather. Sanford was due to come on to the mound in relief of Keith and if anything from the looks of the arm from the outfield there is definitely some velo present to work with. Intrigued to get to see him on the mound in the near future.
