Physical 6-foot frame. Flashed some strong catch and throw tendencies. Had carry through the bag on his pops and the frame is durable enough to hold up to the catching duties at the next level. Solid receiving skills and appeared to be able to steal some pitches at the bottom of the zone.
1/11/20
Athletic frame at 6-foot, 195-pounds with projection left to it and some present strength. Square athletic stance at the plate, small leg kick to stride, and lands on line. Hands make late load at foot strike, short path to the ball, and gains extension on contact. Used the whole field during his rounds and has some gap to gap power potential in the swing. Exit velocity was 86 mph. Feet were short and quick, gets in line for throws, and a high deep exchange. Short arm action and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with accuracy. Positional velocity was 75 mph with pop times that ranged from 2.19-2.29. 60 time was 7.44.

Murray had a quiet day at the plate, drew a walk and flew out to right twice, just getting under balls that if he had squared would have been likely extra-base hits. Still showed strength at contact and ability to use the whole field. Behind the plate, looked fine receiving and working with staff, especially with Neff on mound. Arm was accurate, threw a 2.40 game pop and between inning pops were 2.2-2.4.

Preseason All State I
Upright and slightly open stance that strides in landing closed. Hands make a direct load back before firing forward with a flat path and a high finish. Swing translates to line drive tendencies finishing the lower half completely. Exit velo was 83 mph. Home-1st time was 4.39. Behind the plate Murray showed a quick clean exchange with a short three-quarter arm action. Throws were in line at 71 mph and pops ranged from 2.15-2.22. Receiving was strong as he displayed strong hands working from the bottom of the zone and working up through pitches that were borderline.

Murray is 5-11 with an athletic frame, he hits from the right side from an open crouched stance. Short stride on line, smooth load back, some rhythm to his swing. Explosive lower half and good balance to swing. Simple swing, gets barrel to ball quickly, works slightly uphill with extension through the ball. Line drive swing with potential for power down the road, good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity was 81. Behind the plate, receives ball with hands apart, clean exchange after that, gains ground towards second. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, catcher velocity was 74 and pop times were 2.18-2.34.
