Works from an over the top slot as he separates his hands early, creating some deception in his delivery. Abel has fluid actions in his lower half, showing aggressive drive and projects to add to his velocity as well as natural tilt with more growth and additional strength on his 5-10 168-pound frame. His fastball, which topped at 80 on the day and has been seen up to 82 previously, has occasional late life to the arm side, but it carries well with good spin. Abel mixes in between a 12/6 shape curveball at 66-67 mph and a slider more 10/5 shape at 66-69, both that show good depth and strong potential at the next level with added velocity. His changeup, a late fading offering at 75-76 works very well off his fastball and could end up being a plus offering.
