6/12/18 - Max FB: 82, FB: 79-82, Avg FB: 79.32, CB: 69-72
6-foot-4, 195-pound, RHP shows ability to spin a breaking ball, but projects best as a position player. Prototypical corner IF build w/ XL tall, lean frame. Super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Controls his body well, repeats. Angle w/ downhill plane. Straight FB shows occasional cut. Tight, short downer CB w/ late bite. Gets big on occasion. Flashes as a put away pitch. Around the zone, shows ability to throw strikes w/ his 2-pitch mix. Generated 4 swing and misses on 14 swings.
6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.47, Position Velocity: IF-84, OF-83, Exit Velocity: 89
6-foot-4, 195-pound, RHH can really hit w/ intriguing all-around profile, collecting 2 hits in game. Prototypical corner IF build w/ XL tall, lean frame. Super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, stride to slightly open and proper load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone. All fields approach w/ lot of line drives when right. Projectable power to all fields. Can be a monster offensively as the frame fills out, had one of the more impressive batting practice sessions, generating consistent hard contact all over the field. Projectable slightly above average runner, will begin to slow slightly as frame matures. Defensively, worked out in the IF and OF. Moves well in the OF w/ projectable above average arm strength. Profiles to cover ground in a corner. On the dirt, shows solid hands w/ easy arm strength. Moves well for size. May have to move off of SS to 3B or RF as frame matures, but projects as an above average defender at both positions.
9/23/17 - 6-3, 190-pound middle infielder w/ projectable body. Righty hits from a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Shift of weight w/ slight crouch, proper stride and load. Generates bat speed w/ all fields approach. Developing power. Just scratching the surface of his potential. DNS enough defensively for an eval. Very intriguing bat and body.
10/16/16 - Home-1st: 4.71, Position Velocity: OF - 79, IF - 80, Exit Velocity: 82
6-foot-2, 180-pound, RHH hits from the same balanced and open stance we saw from him at the Underclass Games in July, uses a short stride with a push back of his hands to get loaded, lower half works to get through the zone but stays pretty tall, swing plane begins steeply but flattens out early and stays there through the ball, showed a gap-to-gap approach in BP with the potential to be a doubles type of hitter. Defensively, showed fluid footwork and good hands while playing through the ball confidently and athletically, shorter arm action through a high ¾ slot, long and lanky build with versatility. Norman had some great at bats in game play, drawing 3 walks and driving in a run.
7/27/16 - Home-1st: 4.82, Position Velocity: 75, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-2, 180-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and very open stance, uses a fairly smooth and timed stride with some subtle hand movement backwards to get loaded, lower half gets involved and fires well but doesn’t always get cleared all the way through, bat path starts steep but flattens out quickly and stays through the zone for a while, long kid that uses extension to his advantage, squared some balls up in BP and recorded a 2B and a 1B in game play. Defensively, showed solid hands and above average footwork as he played through the ball consistently, body control will improve with age, exchange at the chest led to a shorter arm action through a ¾ slot to produce pretty good throws across the infield with decent carry.
