6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.69, Position Velocity: IF-83, Exit Velocity: 85
5-foot-11, 185-pound, RHH has taken a step forward offensively, looks more comfortable with his leg kick. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ hand and front foot rhythm into shift of weight, hanging leg kick to slightly open and proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Pull oriented approach. When lower and upper half are synced up, results in above average bat speed w/ ball jumping off the barrel. Getting used to handling off-speed with the leg kick. Some present power in BP, projectable pull power as frame matures. Defensively, profiles as an above average defender at the hot corner, featuring solid hands w/ arm strength w/ projectable above average arm strength. Athletic w/ quality first step.
9/24/17 - Home-1st: 4.78, Position Velocity: OF - 81, IF - 80, Exit Velocity: 86
5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHH w/ athletic, lean frame and intriguing all-around skillset. Offensively, hits w/ a narrow, slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location and some bat waggle. Shift of weight, leg kick and slightly low hand load. Aggressive approach, wants to swing the bat. Showed some projectable power in BP. Some offensive tools, just needs reps and comfort level. True 3B w/ athletic actions. Arm strength w/ carry through target. Intriguing 2020 prospect to follow w/ prototypical 3B tools.
6/13/17 - H-1B: 4.60, Position Velocity: 74, Exit Velocity: 83
5’10, 160-pound, RHH came off as one of, if not the most polished 2020 graduates in the event. Willis knows his way around the field and makes some things look easy. At the plate, he stays very balanced and flat through contact. His lower half could get a little more aggressive, which would produce some additional bat speed and power. Willis currently uses a middle approach and did a good job of producing low line drives from gap to gap. Defensively, he made every play and showed easy actions through fielding the ball and his release. Willis will improve tremendously with some added strength and foot quickness that should come with age and maturity.
