The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Sims has had some inconsistencies the past year, but looked poised to put together a nice 2020 campaign after seeing him in early scrimmage action. The command struggled over the summer, but the arm upside is there and he showed improvement in limited action this year. Sims was an easy 82-86 (Up to 87 in 19’) with good life on fastball. Mixed a 12/6 curveball at 72-74 as well as 77-79 changeup with good arm speed. Very projectable arm who looks to put it all together this summer and secure a commitment.

6-0, 165-pound lefty has just scratched the surface at some big potential on the mound, jumped out for his pen in this scout’s first look at him. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Pitches from a full wind-up into over the top release from the third base side of the rubber. Simple, repeatable delivery w/ long, loose arm action. Quick arm. Learning to get lower half consistently involved, front leg driven. Straight FB shows occasional short arm-side run. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation, flashes late bite, swing and miss type potential. CH w/ short fade and sink. Sprayed the zone a bit on this day, but tools to be strike-thrower as lower half gets more involved. Frame development will determine ultimate upside.

6-0, 165-pound outfielder, showed intriguing all-around profile, but projects best for this scout on the mound. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into hanging stride to square and short hand load. Learning to repeat the same swing every-time, but shows intriguing bat-speed through the zone. As swing gains consistency, has some significant offensive upside. Shows some projectable pull power. As an outfielder, profiles in a corner w/ projectable above average arm strength w/ easy arm stroke.
