On Wednesday, we headed to Summit High School for their district matchup with Dickson County.  Dickson County put up 4 in the 10th to win a well-pitched game 5-1, where both starters combined to strike out 25 in 14 innings.  Summit was previously seen here (https://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/PBR/PLUS-Game-Report-Franklin--Summit-9076285413), where we wrote up the hitters.  With seeing them Monday and Wednesday, this write-up on their end will features solely on the arms that threw (though the hitters have video in their profiles and will have twitter highlights).  Read up on players such as Chris McElvain, a Vanderbilt commit, who struck out 16 below:

CHRIS MCELVAIN / SS / C / SUMMIT, TN / 2019

FB (88-90, T91), CB (76-79), CH (79)

-          7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 16 K

Vanderbilt commit was dynamic on this day and doing all the little things you want to see from a pitcher: working fast, fielding his position and attacking hitters.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some well-proportioned strength throughout, some physical projection remaining.  Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ to ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Glove tap and go w/ simple, repeatable delivery.  Works fast, making hitters uncomfortable in the box.  Super quick arm gets to the slot late in terms of the hitters eyes, letting the velocity on the pitch play up slightly.  Angle.  FB shows occasional short arm-side run.  Tight medium downer CB was a put-away pitch on this day, generated 10 of 15 swing and misses.  Late bite w/ depth.  True swing and miss pitch will play at the next level.  Slows arm on CH, shows short fade and sink.  Attacked w/ his 3-pitch mix, 67 of 99 for strikes.  Projects to command, pitches w/ intent.  When lost the zone, did it in 7 or 8 pitch spurts as mechanics got slightly out of rhythm.  Generated 31 swing and misses on 54 swings, including 20 of 37 on the FB to go with the aforementioned CB swing and miss.
