2023 C Deiten LaChance continues to swing the bat this week as hes picked up four hits in the past two games. The first knock hit he stayed back on a high breaking ball and muscled into RF for a single. The second was a fastball over the plate he timed up and caught outfront for a loud double that one-hopped the LF wall. Wide stance from the right-side with high hands and comes with a physical frame at 6-foot-4, 240-pounds. One of the top overall catchers in the country and has continued to show the ability to find the barrel against high-level arms.

2023 catcher and McLennan commit, Deiten Lachance (ABC Academy), came through with a pair of hits Monday with a ground-ball single back up the middle and a line drive single to LF. Has shown the ability to make hard contact against high-velo arms and did so again today. Big frame behind the dish at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds and moves well back there for his size with good receiving skills.

Lachance showed an ability to have quality at bats game after game. His projectable 6-foot-4 , 235lbs frame is able to generate power with ease, consistently creating hard contact for extra bases. Fights off borderline pitches and makes pitchers come to him. Advanced receiving behind the dish, current catcher for the Junior National Team as well. A 2023 that remains uncommitted and would be a strong contributor to any collegiate program.

While Lachance wasnt as comfortable in the box as some of these other names, Lachance is a year younger and is facing pro pitching for just the second time. Going 9-for-45 (.200) as an underclass catcher isnt bad and the fact that he left the yard twice is something to take note of. While he struck out 16 times compared to just one walk, his four extra-base hits were the second most on the team. The big framed 6-foot-4, 225-pound catcher receives the ball well and is complimented by his raw power from the right-side. A big summer for Lachance as one of the top uncommitted catchers in the country. Stat line: .200 AVG | .217 OBP | 9-for-45 | 2 HR, 2 2B | 3 R | 7 RBI | BB | 16 K

Uncommitted 2023 catcher Deiten LaChance was one of the players we were most looking forward to seeing today and he didnt disappoint. Its a strong, sturdy frame at 6-foot-1, 225-pounds that looks the part behind the plate. He had a quick transfer behind the dish with pop times of 1.85 - 1.94 and 81 mph velo. The right-handed hitter had some loud swings, working to the pullside with consistently exit velos in the mid 90s and a best of 96 mph. One of the top uncommitted positional players on the day.
