PBR CANADA 'MIZUNO' PROSPECTS OF THE WEEK

Ryan Galbraith RHP / 1B / Saint John , NB / 2022

Galbraith, an uncommitted 2022 out of the Port City AAA Pirates program, has a tall physical frame at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds that can be intriguing for college programs.  The swing is smooth and relaxed with good rhythm in his approach. We can see Galbraith being a problem for opposing pitchers getting him out.

Myles Naylor SS / OF / St. Joan of Arc, ON / 2023

One of the best talents in his class, Naylor is a 6-foot, 175-pound 2023 Texas Tech commit. At the plate the swing is compact and twitchy with quick hands staying inside the baseball. Naylor looks to jump on pitches early, and hits the ball hard to all parts of the field. In the infield Naylor has soft hands with a quick transfer. He shows range to both sides, and he’s confident in making all the plays.

Kai Okuyama SS / 2B / Elgin Park , BC / 2022

Okuyama, one of the more well-rounded uncommitted 2022 players out of the White Rock Tritons can be an impact player for a college program. Defensively Okuyama has quick feet, ranges to either side well and has great first step read. The bat is smooth, does not have too many moving parts in his hands, and gets on time with his leg kick. We can see his body filling out more at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. One of the faster players in the country at a 6.69 60-yard time, Okuyama can be an immediate impact player for a program looking for a toolsy shortstop.

Jack Wheatley SS / RHP / Vauxhall, AB / 2022

Wheatley is a toolsy 6-foot-3 180-pound shortstop that every school should be on as a 2022. Coming out of Vauxhall Academy, he stands tall in the box with a short leg kick while he gets into his swing, stays inside the baseball at contact. In the infield the feet move well, he stays in his legs while maintaining a quick transfer and shows arm strength to stay on the left side.

Deiten Lachance C / 3B / Le triolet, QC / 2023

Uncommitted 2023 Deiten Lachance stands at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, and has the ability to turn heads with his talent. Coming out of Academie Baseball Canada, his setup at the plate is quiet with not many moving parts, and he has a short leg kick with good rhythm. The swing is aggressive, looks to punish pitchers and does not get cheated in the box. Behind the plate Lachance has quiet hands, quick feet and a short transfer to his glove, but he boxes himself out at times. Looks to steal pitches for his pitcher. A slam dunk for a college program looking for a talented 6-foot-1 180-pound catcher.
