ABC Pro Day Quick Hits

Our staff stopped by the Academie de Baseball du Quebec's (ABC) facility on Monday for the organization's Pro Day. With many pro scouts on hand for the event, the team showcased their top draft eligible talent as well as some highly interesting 2023s, 2024s and even some 2025s.

The big thing that jumped out to our scouting staff was the plethora of arms that the organization rolled out, including several intriguing left-handers. Beyond that, we got a look a look at several Team Canada JNT players including one of the top catchers in the country. 

Below, we take a look at eight players who impressed our staff on Monday in Montreal.

2023 RHP Xander Bomersback
Report: Bomersback, 6-foot-2, 213-pounds, had himself a day on the mound today at the ABC Pro Day. It's short-armed, free and easy, minimal effort delivery, FB is 86-88 mph with some arm-side run and flashed a heavy 79-80 mph CB.The CB is sharp and has swing and miss potential. Bomersback was around the zone all bullpen long throwing quality strikes low in the zone. Bomersback is an uncommitted RHP that schools should have on their radar.
2024 RHP/1B Jacob Wallace
Report: Wallace, 6-foot-2, 230-pounds, is a two-way talent out of the ABC. Wallace is a physical 2024 with a strong lower half. He attacks hitters with a 3-pitch mix, FB 82-8 5mph, CH 78-81 mph, SL 70-74 mph. At the dish, he’s a physical presence in the box, the LHH gets a little pull happy, but hits balls hard throughout his three rounds of BP. There’s power potential to the pull side. The young RHP/1B is an uncommitted talent that still has 2 years of development left to get even better.
2022 LHP Alexis Colle
Report: Colle, 6-foot-1, 202-pounds, was very impressive this afternoon at the ABC Pro Day. Colle was throwing quality pitches low in the zone with the FB sitting 84-86 mph. Colle flashed 2 plus off speed pitches as well. The SL 66-68 mph was tight and lived at the knees, if he missed his spot it bounced in the dirt. His CH was 71-74 mph, had arm side fade and was on the edges. Colle has a smooth, easy, repeatable delivery and is a top uncommitted 2022 arm that school should be looking at. 
2025 3B/1B Estaban Dessureault
Report: Dessureault, 6-foot, 180-pounds, was a huge standout at the ABC Pro Day. A physical hitter at the dish, he put his hitting ability on display. He hit multiple balls hard to the pull side and easily projects to be a power hitter. He has strong hands, generates bat speed and is a very mature hitter for his age.  He finished off his day at the plate with a 96 mph exit velo. 
2024 LHP Elliot Cadieux-Lanoue
Report: 2024 LHP Elliot Cadieux-Lanoue had the best bullpen on the day in Montreal. He sat 90-91, topping out at 91.5 mph from a medium effort, high ¾ arm slot. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound left-hander impressed at the Future Games this summer with his athletic movements on the mound and the velo jump we’ve been waiting for has arrived. The ball was jumping out of his hand and he also mixed a curveball at 67-69, a changeup at 82-84 and a slider at 73-74. A must-watch arm out here in Quebec who will be sure to draw a lot of attention going forward.
2022 LHP Felix Morin
Report: 2022 Canisius commit LHP Felix Morin was one of the most intriguing 2022s we saw on Monday afternoon. He immediately stood out with his projectable 6-foot-4, 182-pounds and then jumped on the mound and sat 86-88 with his fastball. The fastball had cut to it and he also threw a good breaking ball that had late, sharp downward movement. A good looking left-hander who should be able to compete for innings next year in Canisius.
2023 C Deiten LaChance
Report: Uncommitted 2023 catcher Deiten LaChance was one of the players we were most looking forward to seeing today and he didn’t disappoint. It’s a strong, sturdy frame at 6-foot-1, 225-pounds that looks the part behind the plate. He had a quick transfer behind the dish with pop times of 1.85 - 1.94 and 81 mph velo. The right-handed hitter had some loud swings, working to the pullside with consistently exit velo’s in the mid 90s and a best of 96 mph. One of the top uncommitted positional players on the day.
2024 LHP Jeremy Pilon 
Report: 2024 Jeremy Pilon was another really good uncommitted left-hander to show up on Monday. It’s a small but strong frame at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds and it was a live arm that consistently sat 88-89. He works downhill with a quality three-pitch mix, also throwing a curveball and changeup. There was true feel for both pitches and he sells the changeup well. An arm that college coaches need to have on their radar this upcoming spring and summer.
