8.16.18 Iantomasi continues to change is body in a plus way as he has firmed up and added more strength to his frame, which in turn has made him more athletic, which you can really see defensively at third base and his ability to move and work side to side. At the plate, is a chance to be a power bat from the right side, when he gets on-time, its loud and the ball jumps off barrel. There is rhythm, with an up and down minimal leg kick to load, the hands are loose and when he extends, balls work gap to gap with some juice to right-centre. Present strength, Iantomasi is a bat to pay attention to from the 21 class.
2/19/18
2.19.18 A 6-foot, 185-pound 2021 classman, Iantomasi has a stocky and projectable frame, and has plenty of time to continue to get stronger and add more muscle. While there is definitely a need to get more athletic, Cole shows some raw tools from the right side of the plate. Easy swing with not a lot of moving parts and some raw pop (exit velocity: 88 mph), the corner infielder starts off from an open stance, uses a short leg kick in his load and shows some quickness through the zone. Uphill swing path with clean extension, ball flies off the bat, shows good bat speed. In the infield, Cole shows some fluidity in his footwork with clean arm action. Overall Cole had an impressive first showing and will be an interesting player to follow in the coming years as he develops and grows into his frame.
