A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Body: 6-foot, 172-pound athletic and lean frame with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and wide base. Hands get set below shoulder height with a tucked back elbow. Linear weight transfer with good back side turn. Line drive approach and shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Hands work quickly through the zone with good overall bat speed. Has good balance throughout the swing. Shows the ability to rotate in sequence with the upper and lower body. Showed some strength in the hands during the BP session.
Power: 77 mph exit velocity off the tee and 88 mph exit velocity in BP.
Arm: RH. INF-90 mph. C-82 mph. In the infield throws from a ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and release. Behind the plate shows a very short arm action with elite hand speed.
Defense: In the infield shows the ability to work around the ball with rhythm and good footwork. Very soft hands with good glove action. Shows the ability to use different arm slots when the play dictates. Very good body control. Behind the plate shows extreme hip flexibility when receiving with strong wrists and an advanced feel for pitch framing. Athletic blocking abilities with good lateral movement. Showcased pop times ranging from 1.81-1.93 with very good carry. Overall very good athlete from behind the plate.
Run: 4.78 runner to first base.
Delivery: On the mound uses short steps around the rubber for a controlled rhythm. Works to a mid height balance point with good weight stack on the back leg. Gets some push off the rubber but relies more on the falling down the slope. Hands break down by the belt and gets to a repeatable release point.
Arm Action: Over the top arm slot with clean arm action and very good hand speed.
FB: 83-87 mph, mostly straight action with good downward tilt.
SL: 75-77 mph, tight and short action with good spin rates and fastball hand speed. Has makings of a plus pitch.
CB: 74-75 mph, more shape and depth to slider with same spin rates and hand speed.

The 2023 catcher/rhp showed why he is considered one of the best catch and throw catchers in the 2023 class by ripping off an event best 1.79 showcase poptime with his slowest pop being 1.84 and 81 mph arm from the crouch. The swing continues to make strides with good Blast Motion metrics and bat speed reaching up to 80 mph. Outside of the head turning pop times, Moore really shined on the mound with the fastball reaching up to 90 mph and also showed a very hard slider with tight spin and depth up to 82 mph. Where Moore ultimately ends up on the field is to be determined as he shows high level capabilities on both sides of the ball and is easily projectable both as an arm on the mound and a top catch and throw catcher in the country.
