A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.

An athletic 5-foot-8, 140 pounds build. Ran a 6.97 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- the switch hitter stands in the box with a slightly open stance from the right side and square stance from the left side. From the right side, uses a leg lift for timing and balance before attacking the baseball. Fast quick to the baseball. Bat stays flat through the point of contact. Displayed natural bat whip. Exit velocity was 88 MPH. From the left side, displayed a flat bat path. Simple actions, short load, and stride to the pitcher. Displayed hard consistent contact. Top exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively- athletic sound actions. Smooth funnel actions with a quick transition. Stays under control when gathering himself making the throws across the diamond. Strong arm from the SS position. Top throwing velocity was 88 MPH. Pitching- works mainly from the left side of the rubber. Uses high knee left, drives from strong balanced backside. Repeatable delivery with tempo. FB peaked at 84 MPH with late life, CB has a tight spin and ranged 70-74 MPH. Feel for a CH at 75-77 MPH. The 2021 graduate has a loose live arm. A lot left in the tank. A must follow.
Big Apple Preview (October 15, 2017)
Angeles stands with an athletic build at 5-foot-8, 140-pounds and ran a 7.19 on grass. Offensively- At the plate he uses a slightly open stance with hands high around his head. On the pitch he loads back with a high leg lift, strides back to even, swing is fluid and repeatable with fast twitch in his hands. Path is compact and barrel stays in the contact zone throughout the swing, long extension. 80 mph exit velocity with wood and that number will only increase as he continues to develop size and strength. Defensively- sound smooth mechanics with active lower half with low effort. Fields out in front with a quick clean transfer, high 3/4 slot with 81 mph arm across the diamond. Pitching, easy tempo to his delivery, high exaggerated knee lift, uses hip separation with long stride, quick clean arm-action (elbows get above shoulders) with a fastball up to 77 mph. Very interesting prospect to keep a close eye on.
April 2018
Athletic R/R MIF with a slight frame that is hitting in the #3 hole as a freshman for a solid Cardozo squad. Easy effort stroke; repeats timing
