6/28/21

Physical: Strong, connected 5-foot-8, 175lb frame with athletic/durable actions in his game. Manhattan commit and 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide, lower postured stance as the hands slotted with slight rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift up/down in order to initiate a high-intent, rotational path into the hitting zone working flat and accurately through impact. Stayed behind the ball on the rear hip, producing big time results in the air to pull-side (64% fly ball rate via Trackman, 366 foot batted ball distance). Notched a T97 mph bat-exit velocity and 27% hard hit rate en route to an easy extra-base hit approach during batting practice. Middle of the order consideration at the next level with one of the more efficient operations offensively.

Defensively: The primary backstop received well with a soft glove hand out of traditional. Pop times ranged from 2.00-2.05 as strong legs burst through the throw with momentum at release from a quicker H ¾ slot (75 mph arm, moderate arm circle, carry). Was able to be repeatable when replacing feet, holding pace in and out of the glove. Then moved over to third base, handling himself with range and good lateral movements at a low posture. Fielded inside his left foot, working right to left with momentum to the target (84 mph arm, accurate). Positional flexibility obviously stands out with the bat getting him on the field first and foremost.

2/17/21

Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-8, 170-pound frame with obvious, compact power in the actions. 7.25 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - The righty started from a balanced even stance with not a whole lot extra going on; utilized a controlled leg lift stride in order to initiate a short, efficient bat path through a slightly uphill attack into the hitting zone. Tight turns yielded big time measurables across both platforms (Blast Motion / Trackman) and legitimized what the eye test could see. Easily one of the top batting practice rounds of the day with impressive burst through the hitting window; a 50% line drive rate and 352 foot batted ball distance point to obvious extra base hit ability at the moment. Rotational acceleration scores as high as 25.9 G’s hint at the chance to tap into even more juice, which is interesting considering the fact he notched an already above-average 95 mph exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. And if you needed another reason to like the round, a 58.3% hard hit rate showed just how repeatable the power output was.

Defensively: The primary third baseman was quick on his feet with feel for lateral movements to the glove hand side. An accurate glove hand played off the middle-left side of his body allowing for good tempo from the hot corner and confidence to play through the baseball at the fielding window. Stayed low in the posture with increased consistency on the play on the run. Accurate, high ¾ release with easy arm strength across the diamond, will stick at third base at the next level (82 mph) .. The backstop featured solid receiving abilities from a traditional setup. Pop times ranged from 2.16-2.20 with short, methodical straight line footwork with power out of the crouch, stayed down in the legs through release with pre-catch rhythm present when he set up (71 mph arm).

9/11/20

Physical: 5-foot-8, 160 pounds; stock, sturdy frame. 7.46 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Wide stance with big bend in the knees and waist with the bat rested on his shoulder; picks up the bat upright and shifts weight slightly onto his back leg, strides frowrd. Good, clean movements from the lower half, shoots back hip through and creates some hip-shoulder separation with uphill swing path, catches the ball out in front and lift it well; exceptional bat speed. Pulled the ball well showcasing quick hands and the ability to consistently barrel the ball up; peak Trackman exit velocity of 94 MPH.
Defensively: C/SS: Wide stance with weight on his heels, angles off slightly / Low to the ground with wide feet, walks into the ball; C/SS: Moves his feet well, leaps forward out of the crouch to gain ground toward the target / uses good footwork and his strong lower half to stay low to the ground throughout the fielding process. C/SS: Average hands with a clean transfer / Soft hands that funnel to his belt and work into an east transfer; C/SS: Short, whippy arm action thrown from the ear / Longer, loose arm action with good arm speed from a 3/4 slot. 2.08-2.15 pop times. C - 74 MPH. INF - 80 MPH.

7/06/20

Physical: Stocky, athletic 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame with sneaky strength throughout the build. 7.44 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, even setup with a slight crouch in the knees, the hands start with rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a repeatable lift and replace stride as the timing mechanism in order to launch an efficient, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased a pull side approach while consistently on time at the front of the plate, a combination that signaled plenty of hard contact and loud barrels during a standout batting practice round. Generated natural lift after contact creating backspin to both gaps and present extra base hit prowess. Hit into a stiff front side allowing for a max of 94 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and a peak of 25.20 mph hand speed according to Blast Motion, a number well above his peers at the event.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a soft glove hand at the catch point while receiving from a low and narrow crouch. Pop times ranged from 1.98-2.04 using quick catch and throw skills from glove to hand and short and powerful straight line footwork towards the target. The arm worked with accuracy through a high ¾ slot with a medium arm swing. Got around the ball with downward chest angles while blocking on either side of the plate saving free-90’s. C - 72 mph … The third baseman demonstrated quality footwork arriving to the spot of the ball on time using fluidity in the footwork and active actions across the diamond. Kept the feet moving creating above average pace and consistently setting himself up for good hops on the ground. Made the play on the run from multiple arm slots. 3B - 76 mph

7/01/20

5-foot-8, 160- pounds and has a muscular athletic frame. At the plate, he is balanced with a slightly open stance. He shows plus bat speed and barrels balls up to all fields. The exit velocity was 90 mph. Looks to use the entire body for the swing, lower half is under control, aiding in providing power to the swing.  Behind the dish, he was impressive showing quick feet and exchange with a pop time between 1.96-2.07 and on top of that he showcased a solid quick arm at 78 mph. The arm works with minimal effort.  In the field, the feet and hands work together, fielding out front. The arm action is clean, working from a natural slot,  arm strength was 79 mph. Showed a clean, smooth slow roller pro-move. Someone to put on your radar for the upcoming season.

Exit Velocity- 90 mph

Arm Velocity (C)- 78 mph

Arm Velocity - 79 mph

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.37

Defensively: 2.01-2.12 pop times. INF: slight prep hop for timing; active feet; smooth footwork; able to play vertically and on the run C: Firm stick, large glove target, smooth footwork that gains ground on accurate throws around the bag. INF: medium arm swing; 3/4 arm slot C: Long arm swing, high 3/4 slot. C - 75 MPH. INF - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Controlled pace; Simple, fundamental delivery, easy effort with a repeatable release and follow through. Long, fluid arm action to a 3/4 slot.
FB: T80, 77-80 MPH. Commands down with arm side run.
CB: 68-71 MPH. locates in the zone with a 11-5 break.
SL: 69-71 MPH. Tight, slurve break.
CH: 69-72 MPH. Maintains hand speed with arm side fade.

9/22/19

Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Short simple load actions. Fast twitch hitting actions through the hitting zone. Displayed hard contact to the pull side during batting practice. Defensively- as a catcher, Plus receives the baseball slightly off center. above average footwork, quick transfer and release from a mid 3/4 arm slot. As an infielder, Plue gets himself in a good position before fielding the baseball. Gets rid of the baseball quickly when throwing the ball across the baseball.
