09.28.18

Solid frame with strength present at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds.   Threw extremely well with pop times ranging 1.93 – 2.01 in the workout.  Carried it to game play with pop times ranging 2.12 – 2.26 in game play.  Advanced accuracy on an easy exchange and high-3/4 release.

08.05.18
Sturdy 5-foot-11, 190 pounds with a strong lower half.  Advanced defensively with an above average arm that has elite accuracy in workouts and in game action.  Good bend in the hips. Easy setup and presents the target well. Arms tend to tick up a bit in their pitch-ability with Bryan receiving.  High transfer across the chest to a quick release and over-the-top slot. Positional velocity of 80 mph from the crouch with pop times ranging 2.00 - 2.09 in the workout.  Game pop times mirrored the workout at 2.06 and 2.10. Played some at a corner outfield with decent presence defensively. Ran a 7.58 sixty but tends to have a better first 20 yards that last 20 yards.  Right handed hitter is tall and balanced. Vertical bat. Rhythmic weight shift back with a small leg kick. Small stride. Direct path working for extension. Pull side tendency. Simple and repeats the swing.  Strength over quickness in swing right now. Good balance. Strength is present in the hands and he handles the barrel. Exit velocity peaked at 89 mph off the barrel.

06.20.18

Broad shoulders and a strong frame at 5 feet 11, 190-pounds.  Frame will continue to add strength and quickness. Hits from the right side using an athletic, balanced setup. Smooth load and a small leg kick, getting his hands loaded to attack the ball.  Loose hands with above average bat speed. Good barrel-ability. Keeps his barrel in the zone, getting extension and driving the baseball. Fluid swing with a line drive approach, working gap to gap. Exit velocity at 85 mph.  Advanced defender that presents a clean target and should be able to control the run game. Hands work with some ease from a wide base with good bend in the hips. Quick, aggressive feet attack throwing opportunities. Clean transfers across the chest, repeated throughout the day.  Short, strong arm swing to an over-the-top slot. Pop times ranged 1.90 - 1.94, on-line with accuracy. From the crouch the positional velocity peaked at 78 mph out of fhe hand. Good burst off the line, running a 7.72 laser timed sixty. Sixty time should improve as he learns to carry top end speed for longer periods.

07.30.17
Strength is present in a 5-foot-10, 165 pound build.  Advanced behind the plate, controlling the pacing of the game and working to keep pitchers in the zone.  Receives with ease.  Shows a willingness to block.  Pop times ranged 1.94 – 2.08 with a high level of accuracy.  70 mph out of the hand from the crouch.  Strong arm swing with a short action, to an over-the-top release.  Ball stays true, with carry.  Offensively, shows better than average bat speed.  Barrel ability needs to improve as the hands load in and he works for extension with a pull tendency.  Also pitched, working 80-82, throwing strikes.  Casts the breaking ball a bit at 66-72 with a gradual 11/5 tilt.

07.09.17
Advanced arm strength and carry in the young backstop.  Showed a willingness to block and work with his pitchers.  Easy target to throw to on setup.  Hands worked with ease catching average fastballs from his teammates.  In game pop of 2.31 caught a runner easily with good accuracy.  Pop time between innings ranged 2.06-2.27 with advanced carry and average accuracy. Strong arm swing and aggressive feet.  Clean exchanges in a strong position.
