78.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Maryland recruit RHP Jake Yeager (Archbishop Spalding HS, MD) also showed out, running his fastball up to 93 mph while showing good feel for a 77-80 mph slider. It will need to be tightened with velo added, but it has the potential to become an above-average pitch in the future. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander’s arm action is loose with a deep path and longer circle, while his delivery has good direction. There is some effort to his operation, but look for that to lessen as he gains strength and matures physically.

Body: 6’2”, 170 pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, square, slightly crouched stance. Hands pre-set high with some rhythm and a smooth toe-tap load. Creates really nice hand separation with quick bat speed through the zone. Stays on the ball well and stays behind it with some balance throughout. Creates solid extension through and past contact with a slightly uphill swing path. Creates some lower half involvement with a really nice middle of the field line drive approach. Power: 87 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present pop to the pull side with more projected as the body continues to fill out. Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a low to mid three-quarter slot. Defense: Fields the ball in closer to the body with soft hands and quick, active feet. Funnels to the belt with quick, clean exchanges with solid momentum towards the target. Shows solid range side to side with the ability to throw from various arm slots. Run: 7.75 60-Yard Time.
Delivery: Starts in the stretch into a chest high leg kick. Mechanics are sound. Considerable arm side run was evident on his FB. CB was less consistent, but showed good depth when thrown out over his front side. CH is developing. High ceiling prospect. Arm Action: RH. Mid three quarter arm slot. FB: T83 mph, 79-83 mph. Arm side run. Average spin rate of 1980 rpm per TrackMan. CB: 69-70 mph. 11/5 shape. Average spin rate of 1984 rpm per TrackMan. CH: 70-71 mph.
