Through our "Boots on the Ground" approach to scouting, we at PBR Maryland are committed to providing the most comprehensive year-round coverage of amateur baseball across the state. Following a somewhat abbreviated Spring high school season and full Summer circuit; today we are proud to present our updated Class of 2024 rankings. Today's update nearly doubles our last update back in April as we've added 35 new faces to include now the Top 75 players from across the Old Line State and Delaware.
Contrary to our last installment, this update features two new player's in the Top 5 and quite a bit of movement as we continue to get more looks at player's throughout the class. Saint James' RHP/1B Maclelland Stiffler and St. Michael's LHP Jacob Seek continue to pace the class at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively while making a jump from outside the top ten to No. 3 in this update is Georgetown Prep 2B/SS Ryan Maxey. Maxey filled in seamlessly as a freshman on the No. 1 team in the state and performed extremely well for the Hoyas throughout the playoffs in route to yet another IAC Championship for the program. He continued to impress every time we got to to see him throughout the summer as well, and has asserted himself as one of the most complete hitters in this class.
Another new face to the top five and to the rankings as a whole is Clear Spring RHP/SS Dawson Kehr. Kehr caught our attention on the mound during the PBR 15u National Championships as he popped a heavy 87-89 mph fastball and mixed in an above average breaker. His performance there further earned himself an invitation to stay and pitch for Team Mid-Atlantic in the PBR Future Games.
Rounding out the top five is talented two-way North East SS/RHP Luke Keefer, who just in late July announced his verbal commitment to the University of Maryland.
