6-foot-1, 215-pound athletic build. On the mound the right-hander has a fast tempo delivery that creates deception with his closed landing. From a short, high-¾ slot his fastball sat 79-81 mph topping out at 82 with arm-side run. Showed two different breaking balls. His curveball was inconsistent at 69-70 mph with occasional 11/5 tilt. Threw a hard slider with late movement at 76-78 mph. Showcased a changeup near fastball speed at 75 mph with life and sink. Over at first base he shows good footwork and soft hand. From a loose, high-¾ slot showed 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts with a closed stance. Short compact swing with some power and a showcase best 93 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.69-60.
11/16/14
Big and physical, 6-foot-1, 200-pound good looking two-way prospect. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash and showed a strong arm across the infield at 73. Swings the bat with authority, using the barrel to punish the ball, 87 mph tee exit velocity. Loose and clean swing, showing plus power for his age. Will have to shorten the swing to hit for average at the next level. On the mound, has a nice clean arm path, short on the backside. Could be a power guy down the road as the arm is fast and works well. Spins the ball nicely in the mid-60s and showed a slider at 76 mph. Changeup is a quasi split grip circle with action to it at 75 mph. Could be a very good end of the game guy in a couple of years. Excellent prospect.
