We would like to thank all who participated in PBR New England's Preseason College Prospect Showcase. This was a great opportunity for 2016, '17, '18, and '19 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.
In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Andre Marrero, OF, West Springfield, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic build. From the outfield he shows good arm strength but would improve with more of a run through and a crow hop. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 79 mph velocity. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open and gets to even. Shows a flat path and with some strength in his swing and power to the pull side. Registered top exit velocity of 86 mph off a tee and ran a 7.11-60, but pulled up at the end with hamstring, so 60 time will be better.
Andrew Gorham, OF/RHP, Tabor Academy, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-4, 210 pounds with a long, projectable frame. Right-hander throws with short arm action through a ¾ slot. Easy effort delivery. Fastball tended to stay straight, but showed some occasional cut while sitting between 74-77 mph. His 60-61 mph curveball features 11/5 tilt with gradually moving action. Still developing his 62-65 mph changeup with fading action as he tends to slow arm speed. Seems to work best out of the stretch as it simplifies body movement. From the outfield shows a good run through with solid arm action and arm strength at 83 mph. Left-handed hitter that stands tall and quiet. Uses a little toe tap to start his swing with a solid path and 83 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.15-60.
Anthony Videtto, SS/RHP. Silver Lake, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 185 pound two-way prospect. The 2016 prospect offers plenty of arm as he uses a long-loose, easy delivery. Throws an 81-83 mph fastball that gets on the catcher in a hurry. Three different offspeed pitches. Uses a 71-72 mph slider, and a 67-69 mph breaking ball that is the best of the bunch. The pitch exhibits sharp 11/5 movement. Also uses a 72 mph changeup from time to time. From the outfield shows a good run through with 79 mph arm strength. In the infield he fields the ball into his body and show above average range. Throws from a loose, ¾ slot with 73 mph velocity across the infield. Right-handed hitter that shows a feel to hit. Starts with a wide base and balanced. Little leg kick to load with flat path and real bat speed with an impressive 92 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.02-60.
Brendan Kates, C/3B, Duxbury, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 175-pound solid build. From third base he fields the ball out in front with a quick exchange. From a ¾ slot his showed 74 mph arm strength across the diamond, but needs to improve his accuracy. Behind the plate he sits in an athletic crouch and shows good footwork with above average arm speed and arm strength. Registered pop times of 1.93-2.12 and 77 mph velocity to second base. Right-handed hitter that doesn’t use a stride and really gets heavy on his front foot. A lot of effort in his swing with 80 mph exit velocity and ran 8.0-60 yard dash.
Bryce Tamborra, OF/RHP, St. Peter Marian, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 180-pound average build. On the mound his has a slow tempo delivery that has a tendency to be a bit mechanical. Shows minimal effort and is on line at foot strike. From a long, high-¾ slot his fastball was 69-70 mph with some arm-side run. His breaking ball was 58-60 mph with slow 11/5 break. Showcased a changeup with good arm speed at 65 mph. From the outfield he fields the ball in front of his body with a limited crow hop. From a short, ¾ slot he showed 68 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that start with his hands high and an open stance. Uses a good load with a flat path and 73 mph exit velocity while running a 7.4-60.
Cameron Climo, OF/1B, Billerica Memorial, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 175-pound projectable frame. Shows a lot of tools and will only improve the stronger he gets. From the outfield he shows above average arm strength of 84 mph that is loose and easy. Would even get more on his throw if he used more of a crow hop. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open. Little leg kick to load and show a good bat path that stays in the hitting zone. Once he adds more strength he will produce more power. Registered an impressive 87 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.01-60.
Cameron Plank, C, Marlborough, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-8, 170-pound athletic build. Right-handed hitter that starts way open gets close to even. Uses a good load and flat path that stays in the hitting zone with 82 mph exit velocity. From the outfield he aggressively comes to the baseball but opens up on his throw from a short, high-¾ slot with 73 mph velocity. Behind the plate he is very quiet with a good transfer, but need to get his feet in line. Pop times ranged between 2.01-2.3 with 67 mph arm strength to second base. From third base he shows average range and a quick exchange with 65 mph velocity across the field.
Chris Newman, RHP/1B, Bridgewater-Raynham, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 215-pound athletic build. On the mound the right-hander has a fast tempo delivery that creates deception with his closed landing. From a short, high-¾ slot his fastball sat 79-81 mph topping out at 82 with arm-side run. Showed two different breaking balls. His curveball was inconsistent at 69-70 mph with occasional 11/5 tilt. Threw a hard slider with late movement at 76-78 mph. Showcased a changeup near fastball speed at 75 mph with life and sink. Over at first base he shows good footwork and soft hand. From a loose, high-¾ slot showed 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts with a closed stance. Short compact swing with some power and a showcase best 93 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.69-60.
Daniel McClellan, OF, Southwick-Tolland-Granville, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-7, 145-pound athletic build. From the outfield he profiles as a centerfield type with his 6.83-60 speed. He utilizes a good crow hop and from over the top shows 81 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter that stands tall and starts slightly open. Short swing that stays flat through the hitting with 81 mph exit velocity.
Darren Kelly, RHP/SS, Foxboro, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic build. On the mound the right-hander has a slow compact delivery that is online at foot strike. From a high-¾ slot his fastball sat 79-81 with occasional cut and sink to it. His two-seamer showed good life and some arm-side run. His breaking ball had good depth at 67-69 mph with 11/5 tilt. Showcased a solid changeup near fastball speed at 73-75 mph.
David Capobianco, LHP/1B, Coyle Cassidy, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-0, 190 pounds with a projectable frame. The southpaw throws with long arm action through an over the top slot. Ball is tough to pick up out of his hand which generates a deceptively quick 76-79 mph fastball. Offers three offspeed pitches. Uses a 69-72 mph slider, and a sharp 12/6 curveball that sits between 64-65 mph. Also mixes in a 71 mph changeup.
Eric DelRosso, OF/3B, St. John Paul II, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound solid, athletic build. From the outfield he’s aggressive coming to get the baseball with a good crow hop. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 81 mph arm strength. In the infield he fields the ball into his body, with soft hands and average range. Showed 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Good athletic stance, but gets a little mechanical on his swing. Path starts flat to a high finish with an above average exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.4-60.
Frank Celona, C/1B, Malden Catholic, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 180-pound strong, athletic build. Was one of the top catchers of the day. Solid base with good footwork and a clean exchange. Throws from a loose, high-¾ slot with pop times of 1.93-2.08 and 76 mph velocity to second base. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open and uses a good load. Hands arm quick with short, flat swing that stays in the zone. Registered top exit velocity off a tee of 85 mph and ran 8.02-60.
Garret Keough, SS/RHP, Marblehead, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 185-pound strong, projectable frame. On the mound the right-handed has a slow tempo delivery that speeds up at the end with a lot of effort. Shows a big leg kick and opens up at foot strike. From a high-¾ slot his fastball sits 79-81 mph with arm-side run and occasional sink. Showcases a curveball and a slider. His 12/6 curveball is slower with depth at 68-70 mph. His slider is a tad harder with sharper break at 72-73 mph. Showcased an above average changeup at 74-77 mph with good arm speed and some cut to it. In the infield he moves around with a lot of energy. Shows good range and solid transfer. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond.
George Schmidt, C/3B, Pomfret School, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 200-pound solid build. From behind the plate he starts with a wide base. Shows very good exchange and will improve his accuracy when he has better direction on his throws. Recorded pop times between 2.0-2.12 and 74 mph arm velocity to second base. Right-handed hitter that shows good balance and rhythm in his hands. Has strength in his swing and made solid contact with occasional power. Registered top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran 7.59-60.
Geovanny Rodriguez, 2B, HS of Commerce, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-6, 162-pound build. In the infield he projects as a second base type. Shows soft hands, average range and fields the ball into his body. From a high-¾ slot he showed 67 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Little leg kick with a short, compact swing and flat path. Registered top exit velocity of 77 mph and ran a 7.35-60.
Jack Harlan, LHP/1B, Lawrence Academy, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-7, 240 pounds with a projectable frame. The strong bodied southpaw displays an easy, loose arm through ¾ slot. Uses a three-pitch mix. Fastball features some jump out of his hand with late life in the zone while sitting between 83-85 mph. Slider sharp right to left tilt while sitting 67-71 mph. Also mixes in a 72-74 mph changeup where arm speed tends to slow. One of the top arms at the Preseason College Prospect Showcase.
Jack Ruprecht, 2B/RHP, Archbishop Williams, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 185 pounds with an average frame. The right-handed pitcher throws through a ¾ slot with with short arm action. Some effort in delivery. Fastball sits between 69-71 mph. His 60-62 mph breaking ball features gradual 11/5 tilt. Also mixes in a 68 mph straight changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed. From the outfield he uses a solid run through and crow hop with 72 mph arm strength from a stiff, high-¾ slot. In the infield he field the ball into his body with average range and some stiffness with 64 mph velocity across the diamond. Left-handed hitter with a wide base and a leg kick to load. Keeps his weight back with solid bat path through the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran 8.15-60.
Jake Spada, 2B/SS, St. Johns Prep, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-8, 160-pound athletic build. From the infield he shows very quick twitch movements. Clean exchange and really gets rid of the baseball with a quick arm. Showed 72 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even with a big leg kick. Shows some rhythm in his load with a quick swing and high finish. Registered top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran 7.7-60.
Jake Tryder, OF/C, Mansfield, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic build. From the outfield he utilizes a good run through and gain momentum on his throw. From a high-¾ slot he showed 78 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that stands tall and starts open. Stays slightly open after stride with a quiet approach and dips his back shoulder to give a slightly up his swing. Hands are quick with 85 mph exit velocity and ran 7.53-60.
Justin Frometa, C/1B, Williston Northampton School, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 182-pound strong build. From behind the plate he starts in a high crouch with a decent transfer. Pop times with get better when he gets more online with his throws. Showed 68 mph arm strength and pop times of 2.22-2.40. From first base he shows good footwork around the bag with soft hands and 69 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter with a leg kick to load and a flat swing. Has a strong lower ½ and shows some power to his pull side with 88 mph exit velocity and ran 7.79-60.
Kenan Kolanda, OF/MIF, Wachusett Regional, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-8, 145-pound athletic build. From the outfield he shows a good good run through ball which helps with momentum on his throw. Shows 74 mph arm strength from a short, high-¾ slot. In the infield he shows good range and a clean exchange. Minimal effort on his throw with 66 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Uses a leg kick to get to a good load. Shows quick hands and short to the ball with 76 mph exit velocity and ran 7.58-60.
Kevin Falvey, RHP/OF, Marlborough, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 154-pound average build. On the mound the right-hander has a slow tempo delivery that lands slightly closed at foot strike. He really showed feel of four pitches. From a long, high-¾ slot his fastball sat 77-78 mph with arm-side run. Showed two different breaking balls. His curveball with 11/5 tilt was 67-68 mph with command. Also, threw a cut fastball at 71-72 mph with late break. Mixed in a changeup with good arm speed at 71-72 mph that had some sink to it. From the outfield shows a good approach and crow hop with 78 mph arm strength from a high-¾ slot. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open. Very quiet in the box with limited movement. Flat swing that stays in the zone with 69 mph exit velocity and ran 7.18-60.
Kyle Freitas, 3B/RHP, Bishop Feehan, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 205 pounds with an athletic frame. Interesting right-handed pitcher that uses a unique low-¾ slot. Will be a headache for right handed hitters when you consider his arm slot, and that he throws across his body. Fastball features some heavy arm-side run while sitting between 77-80 mph. Still developing command of his 69-72 mph slider. Also throws a 73-74 mph changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed. From the infield he tends to field the ball into his body with a clean exchange. Throws from an easy, low-¾ slot and 71 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Collapse on back side with a short, compact swing. Registered top exit velocity off a tee at 83 mph and ran a 7.9-60.
Matthew Stanley, C, Classical High, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 165-pound solid build. From a crouch he sits down with wide frame. Shows decent footwork to get his feet lined up with a pretty clean exchange. From a short, high-¾ slot his pop times ranged between 2.0-2.32 with 68 mph arm strength to second base. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open and uses a little toe tap to load and get to even. Short, compact swing with 82 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.98-60.
Michael Cruz, OF, Springfield Central, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 150-pound athletic build. From the outfield he tends to field the ball on the side instead of out in front. Throws from a high-¾ slot and opens up with 79 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter with a good athletic setup. Uses a leg kick to load with a flat path that gets a little long and 75 mph exit velocity. Will utilize his speed hitting from the left side and having 6.97-60 speed.
Nick Carlucci, OF/RHP, Nashoba Regional, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic build. On the mound he shows a high leg kick that he swings open at foot strike. Able to cause some deception with leg kick. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 80-81 mph with occasional run and sink. Shows two different breaking balls. Throws a big 12/6 curveball at 62-65 mph. His second best pitch is his slider at 72-74 mph with a hard, late break to it. Also, showcased a solid changeup near fastball speed at 75-76 mph with occasional sink. From the outfield he attacks the ball with a good exchange. From a high-¾ slot he showed 82 mph velocity. Right-handed hitter that stand tall and starts open. Gets to even with his leg kick and show a fluid bat path with 83 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.33-60.
Nick Wright, OF/SS, Foxboro, 2016
Scouting Report: 5-foot-4, 140-pound athletic build. From the outfield he takes aggressive routes attacking the baseball with 78 mph velocity from a short, high-¾ slot. In the infield he shows soft hands and a quick transfer with 65 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Uses a little toe tap to load with and uphill swing. Registered top exit velocity of 71 mph and ran 7.5-60.
Richard Sharp, RHP/1B, North Middlesex, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-4, 190 pounds with a projectable body. The right-hander uses a smooth delivery while throwing through a ¾ arm slot. Foot tends to land closed, causing him to throw across his body. Fastball tends to stay straight while sitting between 76-79 mph. He also uses a 63 mph breaking ball and a 73-75 mph changeup that features diving action. Over at first base he is good target with decent footwork and fields the ball into his body with 69 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that stands tall. Starts open and gets to even with a high leg kick to help him load. Flat path with 78 mph exit velocity and occasional power to pull side. Ran a 7.3-60.
Tyler Bell, RHP/3B, Catholic Memorial, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with an athletic body. The right-hander displays a quick arm through a ¾ arm slot. Some effort in delivery. Best pitch is undoubtedly his 83-85 mph fastball as it jumps out of his hand and get on hitters quickly. Offers three offspeed pitches. His slider sits between 71-72 mph, while his 10/4 curveball sits between 67-68 mph. The 74-76 mph changeup will continue to improve as he gains consistent command of this pitch.
Will Gallagher, RHP/3B, Silver Lake Regional, 2016
Scouting Report: 6-foot-0, 175 pounds with a athletic frame. The right-handed pitcher displays a smooth delivery while throwing through a high-¾ slot. Offers an easy 80-83 mph fastball. Best off speed pitch is his 70-71 mph curveball which features sharp 11/5 movement. Spots his 73-75 mph changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed.
