Positional Profile: MIF Body: Athletic and lean Hit: Starts in an upright, balanced stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride to get to center. Delivers the bat head with a direct and on-line path to contact and slightly uphill extension finishing with one hand. Uses his hands a lot in the swing, stays in the middle of the field in his approach. Collected a nice opposite field triple during gameplay. Arm: RH. INF- 87 mph. Short and quick with a ¾ release Defense: Plays with a lot of confidence on the infield, receives the ball clean and out front before funneling with soft hands, plays through balls well and can play with one hand, throws from multiple arm angles and can throw on the run with accuracy.

Schwing came away a favorite at our All-State Games this past fall, mainly because of the bounce that he played with defensively and his arm strength across the diamond. Offensively, in this look, he didn't do much with the bat, but not many did facing Jimmie Johnson. However, he did continue to show that he has the ability to play the left side of the infield at the next level. During the game, Schwing had the opportunity to make and made nearly every play that you would want your shortstop to make. He showed a good internal clock on balls right at him, fluid actions and footwork on forehand and bounder plays, and flashed off his arm strength (89 mph infield velocity) on a tough backhand play in the 6 hole.

Hit: Taller, balanced and athletic stance. Uses a simple load and stride to get back to center. Backside works linear to the ball which creates a direct bat path with slightly uphill extension.
Power: Max exit velocity of 84 mph.
Arm: release. Short and quick arm action. INF velocity of 81 mph.
Defense: Bounced around on the dirt with energy. Caught everything clean out in front with athletic footwork. Moved well laterally as evidenced by a nice play he made during the INF workout on a forehand play.
