Xavier signee. Currently ranked No. 30 in the state and standing at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with present strength throughout the frame. Started at third base and batted in the three-spot for the Knights. Mensik looks the part both on defense and with the bat. Defensively, he made the routine play consistently while showing easy movements to both his left and right. His arm plays true from the hot corner, with easy accuracy across the infield. A right-handed hitter, Mensik has a quiet confidence about him in the box with some rhythm in the hands pre-pitch. He starts with a simple load, before swinging with a slightly uphill path with hands that work direct to the ball; producing consistent hard contact throughout the game. Mensik finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and a stolen base.

Xavier signee, was impressive in all facets on Monday morning, showing two-way potential as well. Currently ranked No. 30 in the state, Mensik got the Knights offense going in the bottom of the first inning when he turned on a mid-90’s heater for a double down the left field line. The athletic 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitter swings with a level path that produces consistent hard contact, before running hard out of the box. Defensively, he played the hot corner for the Knights and showed reliable hands for the position to go with a strong, accurate arm that should allow him to stick on the left side of the infield at the next level. Mensik also hopped on the mound to close the game out for Lincoln-Way Central and pounded the zone with an 82-84 mph fastball to go with a 72 mph breaking ball. The future Musketeer will be a name to keep tabs on the rest of the spring.

6-foot-1, 160-pound, lean, athletically-built, right-handed pitcher. Came out of the bullpen as a freshman for Lincoln-Way Central. Struck out two in 1.1 innings pitched. Polished, athletic, repeatable delivery; clean, connected arm action, plays out of a high ¾ slot with quickness out front. Absolutely pounded the strike zone with his fastball/slider combination throwing 83% of his 23 pitches for strikes. Fastball, commanded the zone, occasional late arm-side action. Slider works 11/5, feel for the zone, depth at times; action is in between a curveball and a slider at this point. Should continue to sharpen/tighten as he gains strength and arm speed; chance to be a go-to put-away pitch in the future. High-follow 2024 prospect.
