Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 253 in the state. Listed at a lean and athletic 6-foot, 175-pounds, he got the start at shortstop for the Cougars, while batting sixth. The left-handed hitter more than held his own against one of the best high school arms in the entire country. His swing is simple and athletic, using a whole-fields approach at the dish. In his first at-bat, he took advantage of a misplaced changeup for a backside double to the left-center gap. His next time up, he jumped on a mid-90’s fastball and sent it into left field for another hit, before he would then steal second base, showing off his overall athleticism. Defensively, he looked comfortable at shortstop; displaying natural actions and a soft glove, with an accurate arm to pair. The uncommitted senior will be another name to follow on Saturday in the 4A State Championship Game.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 253 in the state. Athletically built, 6-foot, 175-pound frame, still has room to add on strength. Started at shortstop and hit out of the two-hole for the Cougars. Initially impressed in IO with natural, athletic actions up the middle, controls his body well to both sides of his glove, comfortable on the move, soft hands. The left-handed hitter has a hitterish look in the box, boasting strong, quick hands while working to stay short to the ball. Uncommitted senior to know in the state.

INF Cooper Hanson (Conant, 2024) started off his day on a high note, running an event-best 6.90 60 on the grass track and with our Swift lasers. Offensively, Hanson worked uphill through the zone with a quick hand path that stayed on the barrel throughout his round. His hardest hit ball (94.3 mph) and furthest traveled barrel (342 feet) were amongst the day’s highest marks, too. Hanson showed smooth and fluid infield actions paired with an accurate arm across the diamond on defense. Standing in an athletic and strong 6-foot, 180-pounds, Hanson is an upside prospect to follow.
