WEST SUBURBAN OPEN

On Tuesday, June 27th the PBR Illinois team hosted the West Suburban Open at Lee Pfund Field in Carol Stream, IL. This open event was for all high school classes (2024-27), and gave our staff a chance to get a look at 30+ uncommitted prospects at the start of the summer.

For a closer look at the showcase details and the technologies we have on-site to assist our in-person evaluation for all in attendance, click here. Today we conclude the analysis of the event with a look at all of the position players from the event.

An intriguing prospect of note was 2025 left/left OF Bengt Luckey (Moline). Luckey has an athletic build and overall look, took a sound round of BP with a simple repeatable swing and is a natural mover in the outfield with a clean arm.

INF Madden Johnson (Mattoon) and Keegan Farnaus (Joliet Catholic) are two 2025 left-handed hitting infielders to keep an eye on moving forward. Johnson is an athletic mover that should continue to see his stock rise as he adds quality strength down the road. Farnuas has a motor to his approach and looks to control the barrel at the plate and spray line-drives to all fields. 

C Andrew Satunas (St. Laurence, 2026) is another left-handed bat to know moving forward. Satunas has a hitterish look in the box with fluid pre-pitch action and stays short and direct to the baseball with developing twitch that will only continue to tick up as he gets stronger. Also was an active receiver during bullpens.

INF Jake Williams (Wheaton North, 2025) just missed the cut of the Top-5 but deserves a mention. The right-handed hitter provided some of the loudest contact of the event; T95.6 mph (second highest at the event) and a max distance of 350’ (event best). On the infield, Williams displayed clean actions with an accurate arm.
