6-foot-1, 185-pound starting catcher for CBT. Strong right-handed hitter with an up-the-middle approach; recorded multiple hard groundball base hits through the middle. Strike zone awareness as a catcher translates to the batter’s box. Behind the plate, Vlcko is vocal and carries leadership qualities; showcased both arm strength and efficiency, too. His pop times between innings were consistently in the low 2.00 range. He’s made some big gains in 2020 already. We first saw tall/strong backstop at our Madison-area event in March where his impressive physicality jumped out. He was a raw defender, but his innate arm strength out of the chute was very noteworthy. Vlcko’s done well to make his arm action more efficient all while maintaining huge arm strength (topping 84 mph at our PBR All-State Games event at the end of June). He was popping in the low 2.00 range in between innings over the weekend, repeatedly on the bag with casual, easy arm strength. He nearly threw out a runner in-game on a 2.20 on a ball low and out of the zone, to his right, that he athletically gathered and threw on target without really leaving the crouch.
