Comments
3/4/16 - Jacksonville recruit. 6-foot-1, 180 right hander with a lean medium size body. Was at his best tonight. Only scheduled to go a few innings, they kept him in because of the tight game, and he responded. Fast ball was 90-92 mph in first inning, then the velocity wears off some as he lacks physical strength and has effort in his delivery. Was 88-90 mph in the second inning. The secondary stuff was nasty. Curve ball was a late downer at 75-76 mph and at times was a plus pitch. Slider was a hard ¾ breaker at 84-85 mph. 2-seamer was in the upper 80s. Lots of late life to his secondary pitches. Had quite a few Ks. The body and effort with a slight head whack, makes him a tough profile, but you have to acknowledge the stuff.
2/2/16 - Lean athletic projectable body with a quick arm. FB 89-94 mph with sink down in the zone. CV 77-78 mph. Downer with some depth. Good feel for CHG with same FB life. Should be a 2016 draft. Competes well but may lack physicality to be ML starter. Potential ML reliever.
10/6/15 - Jacksonville commit. 6-foot-0, 180 pound right hander with a loose lean average size body on a medium frame. Deep in back with a drop and drive delivery. Some effort with very good arm speed at a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball is 90-92 with some armside action. Curveball is a downer with depth at 76-78 mph and is a plus pitch. Slider is a short tight cutter at 84-85 mph. Change up has good arm speed with sink and fade at 74-77 mph and is a solid average pitch. Aggressive approach. Attacks hitters. Occasionally overthrows. Could be a 2016 draft.
