Dynasty Games: Pitching Analysis

The Dynasty Games brought in the top seniors in the South Florida area for an all-star game, along with some top underclassmen. I recently took a look at the top five pitching performances of that event. Today, we take a look at all of the pitching performances. Some, who were not mentioned previously, are still very good arms. There were southpaws with pitchability and high ceilings, like Anthony Masiello (North Broward Prep, FL), Garret Rukes (Pine Crest HS, FL) and Mitchell Senger (Boca HS, FL). LHP Brandon Kaminer (Stoneman Douglas HS, FL) also showed pitchability and while he might not have the upside the others do, he still pitched well. RHP Angel Almonte (Cooper City HS, FL) may be a bit of a project, but still bumped 91 mph with his fastball. RHP Tyler Perez (Mater Academy, FL), a South Alabama recruit, showed very well from a low slot. He will definitely throw harder. Uncommitted RHP James Reynolds (Jupiter HS, FL) showed well with an average major league slider to go along with his 87-88 fastball. RHP Zach Zientarski (Boca HS, FL) was up to 88 mph and RHP Tyler Santana (Coral Gables HS, FL) may have shown the best feel for pitching.
Listed alphabetically below are the 2016 pitchers that participated in the Dynasty Games and scouting notes on each.
Angel Almonte, RHP, Cooper City HS, FL
Uncommitted senior. 6-foot-2, 200-pound righthander with a thick, wide body. Loose, live arm at a 3/4 slot. Takes ball out past hip. Wrist wrap in back. Occasionally gets under ball. Fastball was 86-89 mph and touched a 91. Curveball was a 3/4 breaker at 74-76 mph. Stuff and command were a bit inconsistent, but has a lot to work with.
