A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Slider
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Slider
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.

Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Long and big frame, has some strength on the body now, sturdy body type that immediately draws eyes upon arriving the field, there is clearly arm talent here, can get into upper 80s and can hold his velocity as well as being able to bounce back after fairly extended outings and come back on a day's rest and still show good stuff, key for him as he's seen by colleges is consistency of throwing strikes w/the FB which can come and go, max 89 mph at BAWS, spin up to 2625 so the traits of the FB are good and attention getting, extreme overhand slot with high 6.3 release point, SL 73-78 T79, big spin up to 2684, lowers slot to 5.6 on the SL so the variance between SL and FB release height is considerable, CHG 78-80 with 5.4 release height, lowers spin to 2064 from the high spin FB. Finding a consistend release height and slot will only help as he works toward gaining more feel for the zone, the stuff and body and arm talent is 100% present.
1/30/22
Positional Profile: RHP Physical: 6-4, 200-pounds; Broad shouldered, muscular build. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 87 MPH, while sitting 84-86 MPH; straight action. SL: 74-75 MPH; tilting break. CH: 73-76 MPH; runs. Prototypical durable type frame, easy loose arm, FB and SL spin both project well which when paired with velocity (now and future).
10/16/21
Positional Profile: RHP Body: 6-4, 200-pounds. Large broad frame, powerfully built. Delivery: Small turn rocker, medium lift just above the waist, works from 1B side, out to tall and fall long in-line stride, maintains balance through delivery, powerful legs that provide stability through finish, head stays fairly quiet during release. Arm Action: RH. Long and loose, pulls ball early from glove creating some extra momentum, very slight inversion on backside, gets to high-3/4 slot with small recoil after finish, strong arm with more in the tank. FB: T86, 81-85 mph. Runs hard on arm side, fair spin flashes a peak at potential with 2195 max rate (2054 avg), higher release height (6.59) allows ability to create angle toward bottom of the zone. SL: 71-72 mph. Potentially above avg breaking ball, with short depth but quick lateral bite, 2513 max spin (2357 avg), cuts it off a bit at release while lowering slot, there is more life in this pitch with development of more extension. CH: 74-75 mph. Showed ability to take spin off the FB look (1555 avg) with the CHG, keeps down in zone with enough run to get in on RHH or slide away to end of barrel vs LHH, lowers slot slightly off FB look while mirroring the extension.
Positional Profile: OF Hit: RHH. Wide feet, tall set, even feet in mid-box, hands significantly off body before moving back over backside, smooth lift out to stride. Maintains vertical/tall posture, physical swing with some on-plane sweep into zone with aggressive upward attack angle through contact, strong top hand move into two hand finish, ball leaves bat with loudness. Power: 95.4 max exit velocity, 88.3 EV avg, 367' max estimated distance (303'avg), 50% hard hit %, 75% fly balls, 22.2 max hand speed, 72.5 max bat speed, 72.9% on-plane efficiency. Arm: RH. OF - 84 mph. Long arm action, full release from high-3/4 slot, ball comes out of hand easily with carry. Defense: Calm and direct approach to ball, efficient range and angles within his footspeed ability, balanced at ball into consistent release timing. Run: 7.49 runner in the 60.
10/10/20
Positional Profile: RHP - Potential to grow into one of top 2023 RHP in his region. Body: 6-3, 195-pounds. Large sturdy frame, broad upper body, still retains ample room for size/strength. Delivery: Strong power oriented delivery, sinks into backside over rubber, leaves rubber with force, creates front side leverage, centralizes energy well. Arm Action: RH. Long arm swing, loose fast arm, 3/4 slot, powerful lively arm. FB: T83, 80-82 mph. Looks to have life and depth through zone, hard sinker type movement, high avg spin and very high max spin given his age, uncomfortable looking FB for RHH, was in/around zone. SL: 71-74 mph. Tight with quick change of direction, wide sweep at times, chance to use as swing miss as the velocity goes up. CH: 70-74 mph. Big change of pace off FB, straighter than FB w/much less spin, creates late bottom of zone movement.
