BAWS 2019 - After seeing a lot of Schott through the Spring season, he came out and continued to show the impressive stuff he had all season. Long, lean frame that can add weight to improve the overall profile. Schott started the first game of the weekend and came out looking to attack hitters especially to his arm-side where he worked under barrels and in on hands. Over two innings he made two mistakes leaving two two-strike FBs up over the plate too much where they got hit. Besides those two mistakes he induced lots of weak contact while striking out 4 hitters. The FB (84-87 T88) had run arm side with ability to get angle under the hands of hitters as well. The CB (72-75 MPH) showed strong feel with late 11/6 shape and bite through the zone. The CHG (76-77 MPH) wasn’t as prominent in this outing showing run arm-side. His command is the best asset being able to show strong tempo on the mound and willing to attack hitters with all pitches flashing average or better. Love his personality and feel he’s one good offseason away from being higher up with the velocity.

V Paraclete - Uncommitted. Long, large square frame with lean build and lanky limbs; very projectable build with athleticism in his frame. True pitcher who continues to show above average command of three pitches and the frame to make another jump. Clean arm gets to H-3/4 release with quick and compact arm swing from easily repeatable delivery. FB 82-85 T86 MPH with strong angle and ability to run the ball on both sides of the plate; back-door 2-seam is a true weapon. Worked mainly 82-84 MPH entire game, but was able to increase velocity when needing it for pitches. CHG 74-75 MPH is very deceptive looking like a FB with sink under bat paths. CB 71-76 MPH shows excellent feel and ability to manipulate shape between hard late biting 12/6 and longer deeper version for early strikes. Understands how to pitch throwing BB in FB counts with lots of trust in all three pitches and ability to change the sequences and shape of the pitches. 6IP 2R, 7H, 1BB, 8K. Of the 7 hits only 2 were squared up and one of those could have been caught. One of the top 2020 uncommitted pitchers in the area.

V Valley Christian - Uncommitted. One of the top uncommitted 2020 arms in the area, Schott continues to impress with his ability to throw three pitches for strikes and compete against the top talent. Large and long frame with length in his limbs and lean frame that has space to continue to add strength. Arm is quick and compact getting to H3/4 release with easily repeatable delivery. FB was 84-86 T87 MPH with excellent command to both sides of the plate. Utilized 2-seam variant that he could use on both sides of the plate and expand the zone with. CHG 76-78 MPH was very good during the outing looking like a FB out of the hand; able to have the pitch sink and run and trusted it for swing and miss. Excellent feel of the pitch and times where he could really pull the string. CB 72-76 MPH with true 12/6 shape and the ability to shorten or lengthen the depth; excellent feel and able to utilize the pitch in any count and on both sides of the plate getting swing and miss. The pitch improved as the day went on and was a true weapon. As usual, competed and battled showing plus demeanor on the mound as things around him didn’t go his way. 5.2IP, 4R, 7H, 3BB (2IBB), 6K.
