Fresno Easter Classic - Oregon State Commit. Big strong durable pitchers body with a loose whippy arm. Worked 88-92 MPH in 1st touching 93 MPH. Settled in at 88-90 MPH touching 91 in 4th. SLD shows plus potential 77-79 MPH changing between slurvy to sharp-biting action. Flashed CHG at 81-82 MPH showing feel for it and flashing more.

Oregon State commit; viewing vs St. Mary's HS; He has big time stuff and there will be more down the road but in this one the big and burly young pitcher ran into some trouble as he left some breaking balls up and wasn't able to get some calls on the fringes of the zone. He wasn't wild per se' and there were some calls he should have gotten. His line ended up 3 IP; 5 K, 3 BB, 4 H, 5 ER. Susac has a high 3/4 slot and as he gets there he clears his front hip early, which does limit deception, and also tends to cause him to lose momentum toward the first base line. That rotational nature of his delivery forces an earlier release point, which can sap some life of the raw stuff and make consistent control more challenging. He lives down in the zone with the fastball pretty much exclusively and given his velocity (88-90, T91 mph) it would seem that an occasional high fastball would get swings and misses and then also help make his hard curveball (76-78 mph) even more effective. He has good two plane break to the breaking ball (and it was thrown often) and when he stays in line toward the plate longer all his stuff was more crisp. His best pitch today was his change-up (80-84 mph) that he has been working on. It was thrown with feel and had good action down in the zone. Chalk it up to an early season start and no doubt he will continue to improve as the season goes on. Susac has clearly emerged as one of the top 2021 prospects.

Scrimmage v Rocklin HS - Oregon State commit and one of top few 2021 RHP in California and nation, looks to be in mix for very upper rounds of 2021 draft. Broad sturdy type body at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, resembles Stephen Strasburg in quite a few ways with his body and stuff. High 3/4 slot, good body control through delivery, has good tempo and mound presence. He has three pitches that are all usable, with the fastball and curveball both projecting as future plus offerings. In fact, the curveball could be presently graded as a 60 at it's best, can buckle hitters if he throws it at a right-hand hitter front hip and can also bite it off the plate. Feel of the pitch was advanced for his age. He does clear the front hip a bit in the mechanics and there isn't a tremendous amount of deception, but he will be able to keep better hitters off his fastball because of the feel for the curveball and an improving change-up that flashed late down action. He's not only got stuff, but the make-up component also rates as a plus. The video is a bit lengthy, but it gives a well-rounded look at him.
