11.11.18 Presented a nice presence, clean mechanics and showed some athletic movements on the mound with a live arm. Showed big time command of the FB with typical LHP movement at 80-82 mph, topping at 83 mph with some “cut” to it. His breaking ball was 65-67 mph and at times it was a plus pitch, especially vs.LH hitters. His changeup was 75-76 from the same arm slot and arm action. This pitch could be an effective one for him, especially as an “out pitch” vs. RH hitters. Intriguing arm.
11.11.18 Tracked balls very well in the OF and showed nice “feel” for the position. Nice looking athlete that runs well and can cover some ground. The arm works and the ball explodes out of the hand with nice arm strength (80 mph OF) and really did a good job of giving the catchers an easy throw to handle. At the plate, he started with an even stance with a nice load of the hands with rhythm and showed some pop to both gaps. Has a simple approach and does a good job of incorporating his lower half into his swing.
Lance Clardy (2019 OF/LHP, Buckhorn HS) 6’1 170 lbs- ran a 7.19 60 yard dash and was toward the top of the boards with an 85 mph OF velo and 84 exit velocity off of a tee. Showed good jumps on the ball in the OF during defensive drills and showed some power to the backside during BP. In game play, Lance really stood out on the mound showcasing a fastball that sat between 81-84 and touched 86 mph with ASR. His curveball was 72-75 which over the top action and depth and his changeup was consistently down in the zone at 76-77 mph.
