Some Top Performers from the 6/19/18 Top Prospect Games

The Top Prospect Games (Class of 2019) were held Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Prattville Christian Academy. The players went through a workout in the morning followed by a game. There were some very impressive numbers put up in the workout and in the game. Garrett Gustafson (uncommitted C/1B Hazel Green HS) was impressive in the morning during the workout routinely throwing sub 2.1 pop times to 2B and was equally impressive in his BP rounds and at bats in the game. Matt Dailey (uncommitted OF/LHP, Huntsville HS) showed serious power to all fields in the morning and followed that up by barrelling the ball up in all three of his at bats in the game. He showed the ability to pitch in the 7th inning with a fastball that showed a great deal of ASR and a plus breaking ball. Lance Clardy (uncommitted OF/LHP, Buckhorn HS) showed a plus arm in the OF during morning drills and was very impressive on the mound in the game showing plus velocity and command of a breaking ball. Trey Wright (uncommitted RHP, Buckhorn HS) was another arm that was very impressive on the mound. Showing a fastball in the mid 80’s, his offspeed arsenal and command makes his pitchability even better. Justin Perreault (uncommitted RHP, Homewood HS) turned some heads on the day as well. Although small in stature, his fastball reached the upper 80’s showing late life. Some others of note that had impressive days as well:

Jackson Reece (uncommitted LHP, James Clemens HS) worked two clean innings in the scrimmage showing advanced pitchability with his three pitch mix.

Traeshon Hall (uncommitted OF, Hueytown HS) had 2 hits, including a 2B in the game.

John Hale (uncommitted C/RHP, Homewood HS) had 3 hits in the game and also worked a scoreless inning on the mound.

Tomorrow we will look at additional players that had impressive moments at the Top Prospect Games.
