6-foot-1, 215-pound mature sturdy frame. Started in an open stance with a compact load while using a small leg kick. There is a lot of bat speed and he uses an upward rotational swing plane. Sutphin clocked an exit velocity of 93 mph via Trackman. Was up to 85 mph on throws form the OF with a natural exchange and shrt, choppy footwork. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.68. On the mound, showed quick arm speed and a high ¾ arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher. He has fading action into RH hitters on his changeup (69-70). Sutphin continues to show legit power to the pullside gap as he consistently hammered balls there during his BP round. The fastball (80-81 mph) showed nice downward tilt as he showed the ability to also command the pitch down in the zone and to the glove side. The breaking ball (65-66 mph) is more of a traditional 12/6 breaker with late down action as the pitch neared the plate.

Sutphin showed a potential power arm on the mound as he showed clean actions on the bump. The arm works and the fastball seemed to show late life at 84-86 mph. The secondary stuff showed very well at times and once he can consistently command the offspeed stuff he has a chance to be a big time arm in the ‘22 class. Has potential on the mound. The arm strength was displayed from the outfield as well as he was 88 mph with accuracy. Slightly open stance at the plate with a small crouch. There is a nice rhythmic load of the hands as well and the swing is well synced. He shows nice pop to both gaps.

Big, stocky RHP that uses his core strength very well on the mound. The arm works well and he shows a FB with sink and late life that he was able to spot to both sides of the plate up to 86 mph. The breaking ball shows 12/6 action with nice depth at 63-64 mph. The change up is a nice pitch and plays well off the FB at 74-76 mph with the same arm action. Big time potential in this power RHP. Showed some big time juice to the pull side during BP, creating a ton of back spin off the bat. Slightly open stance and looseness in the hands, creating some whip with the barrel. Does a nice job of getting extension through the swing as well. Does a nice job using his lower half throughout the swing as well In the OF, he showed nice arm strength (86 mph) and throws stayed on line to the plate. A ‘22 that really jumped out at the event.
