Body: 5-8, 168-pounds. Proportional strength in an athletic build.
Hit: RHH. Open setup, leg-kicks into a short stride. Short/direct barrel to the ball, whole-field approach with the ability to produce line-drive, fluid rhythm.
Power: 91.2 max exit velocity, averaged 84.4 mph. 258’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 slot
Defense: Steady hands, showed the ability to throw from multiple arm slots.
Run: 7.02 runner in the 60. Athletic runner.
SS Carter Sheehan (2023) caught our attention when he attended the Preseason All-State event this past January, running a 6.81 60 yard dash and flashing ability with the glove and bat. He continues to trend upward playing a huge role for the Calera Eagles in 2021. Hitting in the leadoff spot and playing shortstop, Sheehan stepped up to the plate to start things off in the 1st and jumped on the first pitch of the game and ripped it by the 3rd baseman. Some present twitch with solid athletic ability. Stole 2nd the next pitch, advanced on a throwing error on the same play, and scored on a ground out from 3rd base. Possesses quick feet and efficient routes to the ball up the middle defensively. A sophomore who is a follow for the next 2 ½ years.
5-foot-8, 158-pound athletic frame. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. Began in a wide stance with a controlled load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is above average, shows upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found some barrels in his round. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was registered at 70 mph; had sure hands, a natural exchange, and rhythmic footwork. Fields the ball out front movements laterally were quick. Had a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.81.
