Machej has plenty of growing and maturing to come over the next two years but possesses tools and projection that have him on track as one of the top infielders in Alberta’s 2026 class. Ran a 7.19 on Workout Day and was 81mph across the diamond (86mph in March) along with actions that should keep him on the left-side. The right-handed hitter is still just 6-foot, 160-pounds with strength to come and produced a peak exit velocity of 91mph. Another Dawgs player who should see an increased role and notoriety over the next year as he enters upperclass territory.
3/29/23
2026 SS/RHP Alex Machej put together a good day on both sides of the ball and catches your eye with a high-waisted, projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. Right-handed hitter line-drive, gap-to-gap approach right now but will be interesting to see how the bat develops as he adds strength. Found the barrel at a clip of 80%. There’s upside on the mound as well with a fastball that sat 79-81mph. Overall game is still raw but Machej will be one to follow over the next couple years as he develops and refines his game.
