CATCHERS

Parker Redden, Shady Springs HS, Class of 2021

Parker ReddenOffensively, Redden initiates his swing out of slightly open, neutral position with his hands near his ears. Has a good swing plane and creates good torque when swinging. Showed ability to drive the ball to opposite field well. Registered a 82 mph bat exit velocity.

Defensively, Redden blocks the ball well to go along with a 2.13-2.25 registered pop time. A 67 mph velocity out of the crouch was recorded. His hands work well and are adequate. Show confidence in receiving and blocking pitches. Redden is a player to follow in the 2021 class.

Alfred Isch, Philip Barbour, Class of 2023

Offensively, Isch starts with a wide stance, with his hands high near his head. He uses his mid-section and lower half to create good torque creating solid contact back through the middle.

Defensively, Isch showed a pop time of 2.19-2.28 which was best for his age group. When blocking, Isch has the tendency to not drop his chin which could cause a future injury. As he continue to mature, i don't see that as being an issue and is correctable.

Ty Galusky, Morgantown, Class of 2023

Offensively, Galusky starts in a neutral position with his hands set lower and knees slightly bent. He showed the ability to consistently make solid contact and drive the ball to the opposite field. Has good extension and drive through the ball.

Defensively, Galusky is fundamentally sound. He showed a 2.22-2.38 pop time to go along with good receiving skills. Receives pitches inside he body and displays good footwork.

Caleb Nutter, Robert C. Byrd, Class of 2023

Offensively, Nutter starts in a slightly open stance. As the pitch is being delivered, he moves to a more athletic stance and creates solid torque through the ball. Has an advanced swing for his age.

Defensively, Nutter presents a physically gifted body. He showed a pop time of 2.25-2.34. Shows some tendency receiving balls at the plate, but showed good athleticism overall.

Connor Blake, Bridgeport, Class of 2023

Offensively, Blake starts in a high neutral position. Swing can be a little long, but as he develops that will get shorter. Drove ball consistently back through the box and to his pull side.

Defensively, Blake throws out of a side-arm delivery to second base. As he gets older, this could cause him some issues defensively. He showed a pop time of 2.47-2.63.
